me and my dad were working on modding my gba this is the second time we opened it up to work on it the first time the buttons did not work but this time when ever I open a Game the saves do not load but every thing works except saves does anyone have the solution

Taking a crack at doing some custom paint jobs on original GBA shells. Love the feel of original better than aftermarket but love a custom look at the same time.
Really just want to see if people like this, considering doing more in the future.
Everything is in the tittle, I just want the best reliable combo of IPS Screen with pixel effect and a good solid shell. I would like to have everything in white but I can change my mind on the colorway.
First I saw the IPS Hispeedido v5 but apparently it only pairs with the same brand shell and it's not a good one.
I also saw the eXtremeRate shell in white but I don't which screen to pair with it and I'm a bit lost.
I clean the vital areas and still don't turn on. I suspect that is that pin, looks fried. is something I can do? don't want to throw it away at part of my childhood
I modded my gba sp with an ips screen some time ago. And it worked well until about two days ago when the screen suddenly became darker. I dont know how to fix it and would like it if someone could help me.
When i replaced the screen i did not solder in the small wire to control the brightness.
Modded this GBA for the first time, ive never really messed with any electronics like this before. Took about an hour to get the ribbon cables connected correctly. I kept installing them upside down. And about another hour to carefully put it all back together. But I'm happy with the end result. Got funnyplay IPS 2.0 screen, shell, buttons, and membrane. Ordered from handheld legend. Woo!!
Tried to make it themed like a memorex cassette tape, but ended up looking more like a cup cake.
I’m hoping someone can help me identify this backlit display. I’m curious if the taped ribbon connector contacts on the button right might provide any ability to change the backlight level if given the proper connections.
I received this as a gift over ten years ago and it doesn’t appear to have any sort of board of its own, so I assume this predates any convenient solderable button-combo style adjustment. Partly, I’m just curious if anyone knows anything about it.
I’ve recently shellswapped and ips upgraded an old GBA sp and now the buttons feel less tactile and more mushy. It’s so annoying. Please help
