George with Robbie Robertson (of The Band) in the 1960s and 1980s - today is Robertson's birthday, he would be 83 years old

Today is Robbie's birthday - he would be 83 had he not passed away 3 years ago. I just wanted to share a quick history of his relationship with George / the Beatles. There are a couple of times they met and collaborated.

As a member of The Band, George met Robbie a number of times in the 60s and 70s. The first time was when the Band were backing Bob Dylan on his first electric tour - the Beatles saw them at a few concerts in the UK, and met Dylan and the Band (including Robbie) backstage.

George would later meet them again near the end of 1968, when he spent some time in Woodstock - the New York town which had become Dylan/The Band's home base. George left Woodstock with two new songs and a great feeling of inspiration - he later stated that "All Things Must Pass" was an attempt to write a Robbie Robertson-type tune.

When Dylan and the Band played the Isle of Wight in 1969, George met with them again, but after that I don't think he saw them until 1973 when the Band (minus Richard Manuel) played on a song he had written for Ringo, "Sunshine Life For Me". Ringo actually had a pretty long history of working with members of the Band. Robbie played on his 1974 track "Snookeroo"; Ringo played at the Last Waltz; Levon, Rick, and Garth were in the first iteration of the All-Starr Band.

In the late 80s, George and Robbie recently made comebacks with new solo albums. They appeared in this photoshoot together (not sure of the context) and apparently it was rumoured that they would tour together - obviously this never happened.

I know it's only tangentially related to George, but I thought I'd share since I imagine there's some overlap in the George/Band fanbases. Happy birthday Robbie!

Questions about the lyrics of "Beware of Darkness".

As a non-native english speaker, I struggle with the expressions "falling swingers" and "soft shoe shufflers". Can someone put them in context to me and explain their meaning?

EXTREMELY RARE- While My Guitar Gently Weeps from the Evening show (New photos included)

From The concert For Bangladesh (1971)

New photos emerged capturing the rare unseen performance of While My Guitar Gently Weeps from the evening show. This version is faster and more energized. Eric's guitar solo is 100 times better than the afternoon solo, especially since he's using his Strat here unlike the afternoon performance that we see on the official release where he's using that Gibson hollow-body guitar with the HORRIBLE tone.

The only version available at the moment is the audience recording of the performance which is not the best quality but that's expected. Hopefully we'll get to see this version in 4k with stereo sound when Peter Jackson releases his restoration of the two shows.

Does anyone have George Harrison on SNL?

I cannot find it anywhere. I’ve searched YouTube and found a couple songs but not the Cold Open or the other songs he played. Just wondering if someone had it or knows where to watch?
