Hi all!
I might not be in the right subreddit for this but was hoping for advice on how to photograph something. My friend made a glass etching art piece for me and it might be the nicest gift I’ve ever received from a friend. The problem is that I want to photograph it so he can put it on his website and so I can make a post thanking him. Im… struggling…
The problem is that it’s built into a frame with solid backing and edges that stick out, so I can’t really light it from anywhere but the front. When I do that though, the reflection is so strong i cant see the piece.
Any advice you guys have would be greatly appreciated!
Trying to find somewhere to get an custom oversized replica of this bottle made for a gift. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!
Reupload with high resolution images including some 365nm UV light images in the hopes someone may be able to assist with identifying this piece :)
Many thanks in advance :)
Had to go back and relearn some basics after I kept having pieces crack. Finally got to the point that I could pull this off!
Has anybody ever been to Habatat Galleries in Royal Oak Michigan?
One thing I'm curious about is why glass color manufacturers often have a lead crystal color (e.g. all of https://glasscolor.com/gaffer-clear-lead-crystal, https://glasscolor.com/r-100, https://hotglasscolor.com/products/k-100-bar-lead-crystal ) -- I thought the purpose of lead crystal was (roughly) to increase the index of refraction of glass; is using e.g. an overlay or adding a layer of frit enough to do this meaningfully over otherwise normal clear? Has anyone used these colors and had interesting results?
Apologies if this is a silly question, but I’m curious if there are pros/cons to using the tag to spread color bar from an overlay over the clear bubble at the bench (rather than at the marver, which is how I learned). I would have thought that using the tag or some other smaller tool would suck less heat out of the color and give you a little more time to spread the color over (though maybe if one is skilled enough the difference becomes negligible).
Hi all!
I represent a company producing luxury crystal barware at scale who is looking to produce all or a portion of their lines domestically. We currently product overseas. We are aware of the cost implications of making a domestic move.
We are hiring glassblowers, looking for hot shops to partner with or acquire, and looking for a production manager.
If you are interested or have any leads, we'd love to talk.
I purchased these 6 items at the estate sale of a 60s-70s era artist. The frosted pitcher is from Richard Jolley and the three vases are from his wife, Tommie Rush. I would like to give proper attribution to whoever made the bird and blue apple but neither has identifying marks. Any help?
Looking to make a shrimp only aquarium, but these large glass containers are ridiculously hard to find. It would need to be able to hold about 9 gallons of water long term, as well as some heavy rocks(which will be supported by egg crate)Any ideas? Pic for tax. Ty in advance.
I have modified the Furnace so that I have easier access to the glass
I broke a glass parents found on trip to Venice - can someone help me find it?
