I’m heading over from Spain next week for a 6-day road trip through Wisconsin and Michigan, and I’m ridiculously excited!

The plan is to start in Chicago, head up to Sheboygan, then Green Bay, before driving around the northern tip of Lake Michigan, crossing the Mackinac Bridge and heading down to Traverse City, eventually finishing in Detroit. I’ve got three rounds lined up:

** **Whistling Straits (Straits Course)
Arcadia Bluffs (Bluffs Course)
Arcadia Bluffs (South Course)

Would love to hear from anyone who’s played these courses. Any tips, things to look out for, or advice on making the most of the experience? I’ve heard the whole experience at Whistling Straits is incredible, so expectations are pretty high!

Also looking for hidden gems along the way!

I’ll be driving from Green Bay to Traverse City via the Upper Peninsula and Mackinac Bridge, and might have time to squeeze in another round.
Are there any lesser-known, reasonably priced courses along that route that are worth a stop? I particularly love courses surrounded by trees, forests and natural scenery. Not looking for another $300+ bucket-list course (so excluding Sand Valley and the other big names), just somewhere nice with a bit of character.

And if anyone has recommendations for cool stops, classic American diners, great food or anything else worth experiencing along the route, I’m all ears!

P.S. I’m also going to the Packers game at Lambeau Field on Sunday. Three incredible golf courses, a road trip through the Midwest in the fall, and an NFL game at Lambeau… this could genuinely be the best six days of my life! 😂🏌️🏈

For those of you who organize group golf trips, what is the biggest pain in the planning process?

I’m curious what people actually find frustrating when putting together a trip for 8-20+ golfers.
Is it:
Finding and comparing courses
Getting tee times for a larger group
Finding lodging that works for everyone
Getting everyone to agree on the itinerary
Restaurants/bars
Transportation
Keeping track of costs and who owes what
Coordinating everyone’s schedules
Something else?

I’ve helped organize a few group trips and it seems like one person usually ends up doing a ton of the work.

Curious what other people’s experience has been and what part of the process you wish was easier.

Heading to Japan in Mid-December and would love to grab a round or three while I am there. I understand that I'll likely want to look further south, but curious if anyone has any firsthand experience, recommendations, etc. for winter golf in Japan?
