I’m looking at playing Bethpage Black by staying overnight and camping and was wondering if anyone has done it as a single before? I would love to get a tee time real early the next morning and was curious what time I should get there at and if anyone has any other general tips? Thanks
Every year I watch as my husband being that guy who goes to the ends of the earth to wrangle his mates for a golf trip and every year it's the same. He's on the couch tearing his hair out at the group chat with 200 messages, a spreadsheet nobody opens, someone always asking "wait what tee time am I" and he spends hours retyping the scores into his phone at the bar after each round.
Curious how other people who organise these buddy golf trips actually do it. Do you just live in a Google sheet? Is there an app you actually stuck with? Half the golf apps he's tried are built for club comps or want everyone to have a GHIN/handicap set up which his mates do not have.
Not looking for anything fancy. Just want the tee times, who's in what cart, basic itinerary and the running score in one place that even the tech-luddite can manage it without bugging him every minute.

Curious about where everyone stayed during their SW Ireland golf trip. We want to hit some of the well known courses (Ballybunion, Lahinch, Waterville, Tralee, Old Head, etc) and wondering if its best to split up the stay into multiple locations or just stay in Killarney and maybe do those courses around there.
Obviously location and courses kind of go hand in hand, but I am curious what you all did when you went.
Hello. St Louis folks. Looking to plan a golf trip for 8 guys late August . Might hit a cards game as well. Where should we stay? Air bnb? Hotel? I am leaning toward hotel because a couple of the folks going tend to get lazy and will hide in their room at the Airbnb all day.
Looking for some advice on the tournament format for an upcoming golf trip. Would love to hear some options.
Here is the breakdown: 16 guys, was thinking two man teams, using caps to a certain degree (50-75%?). Last year we did just good old fashioned best ball of the two. Hoping to have something a little different this year.

Traveling to Traverse City, MI for work in the first week of September. My buddy (1hcp) and I (15 hcp) are planning for an extra day to try and squeeze in some golf… which course or courses would be the best in the area to try and play in a day?
Going on a Northern Michigan golf trip in September. 4 rounds (broken into 6 different competition rounds). We want to have it set up like a tournament where we play several formats (stroke play, scramble, match play etc.). 7 guys would normally be tough for this but 2 of the guys are a tier or two below the rest of us so I was thinking they would pair up and play as 1 in the match play and would be part of a group of 3 in the scramble and they’ll be receiving strokes for the other formals.

For our golf trip we have 12 people and each are putting in $150 the the pot for payouts during the trip.
We have two teams and are playing different style matches each day: singles, two ball, and team match play.
However, I want to be able to crown a trip champion for the guy with the lowest score throughout the weekend. The singles is easy enough but I am curious how I would apply that to the two ball and the match play? Do I just have everyone record their scores individually and figure it out total strokes after the fact?
Curious if anyone does anything similar with their golf trips.

I had an idea to provide a service to help someone plan a golf trip using pre-existing. credit card points. I could have some pre existing golf trips in mind while also taking personal suggestions from a client and then planning. I would not actually book the trip just provide a detailed plan with hotels and flights if necessary. The golf would have to be paid for seperately but over time I could build a relationship with the courses.
I would not want to delve into the credit card sign up suggestions. I think I would enjoy the planning and provide value to someone with the current points.
This service would be good for someone with a bundle of points from work but not a comfort level or desire to put them to good use.

We are going to North Carolina next spring and staying in the Pinehurst area, but off-resort so we will not be playing the Pinehurst courses. I saw Tobacco Road Travel allows you to book golf only packages and we were thinking of working with them.
Most courses we want to play (Southern Pines, Pine Needles, Mid Pines) don't allow booking more than 30 days out, and with 12 people I worry about getting tee times so working through TRT sounds like a good option to secure tee times.
Curious if anyone has used them and how different prices are with them instead of booking on your own.
Going on year 3 of an 8-person golf trip.
We randomize teams and it’s 2v2 scrambles for 3 rounds over a weekend (we’re all similar skill level)
Any tips for ways to keep it interesting? Pin prizes, different challenges, etc…?
I have an opportunity to join a booked golf trip for 8 in May 2027. Six consecutive rounds at Old Head, Waterville, Ballybunion, Dooks, Lahinch, and Tralee. It seems expensive at $10 for lodging, golf, and local transport? I'm guessing $13K+ all in. I am also concerned about my old body handling six days of golf without a break. On the plus side is the better chance for good weather, and it is on my bucket list - I'm not getting any younger. For context, I have a 15.1 HI but a short-knocker more comfortable under 6000 yards. And I do have a lot of experience with links style golf in the UK at least.
What do y'all think?

I spoke to the organizer, learned a bit more, and committed to the trip.
