No Excuses (It's NOT a Door)

https://www.reddit.com/r/gopro/s/xn6JpVQBeV.

Watched two unboxing videos. First guy completely ignored the label and removed it without showing the sticker. Second guy says oh what's this? Proceeds to pick at it before reading the sticker.

We will have more incidents.

Did the media embargo get pushed back?

was all excited to wake up and watch dc rainmaker in depth video on mission 1 pro.. maybe potato jet.. the official gopro one is cool and all but we need real footage not the super produced stuff too..

EDIT: comment by gopro official youtube:

"Reviews and footage comparisons will start to go live next week. We can’t wait for creators to put MISSION 1 through real-world testing, we think you'll be quite impressed"

looks like we aint getting shit today. must of had to push it all back due to firmware

Mission 1 Bundles are online now

Comparable to previous bundles, I think.

Has anyone ever had the 4 wheel edition/bundle?

edit: got the promo warning, I am not promoting any products, it's just the screenshot of the GoPro store.

This part of my GoPro broke, is it anything to be concerned about? I mainly use it for Scuba diving/pov videos.

Go Pro Microphones

So the new mic system is now available for preorder, I just preordered them but I’m curious if I’ll need to have something constantly plugged into the GoPro.

Does anyone know if they will connect automatically to the GoPros without using a dongle?

Anyone else not able to open Mission launch video?

“this video is private” is all I see after clicking.

Will the mission series cameras be for GoPro what the Genesis was for Sega?

What's your thoughts? I feel more excited about it compared to others. I like the grip idea a lot.

GoPro Mission Series Full Comparison Chart

I hope you’re able to read this if you’re interested - I had to convert the PDF to JPG to be able to upload it here.

Somehow this comparison chart came up on the GoPro site early on one of my browsers but I can’t replicate it now. I wanted to share thinking some folks might be interested in seeing the full comparison between the Mission 1 cameras. I’d expect everything to be live on the GoPro site later today, including some accessories.

I did find the difference in the still photos in a couple of scenarios a little surprising. GoPro stated in interviews that the only differences in the Mission 1 vs the Pro was the high frame rate but it’s lacking some feature parity in certain photo scenarios. For most people, I doubt it will matter much but interesting nonetheless.

Should I upgrade my Hero 10 or try a 360 camera?

Currently I have a Hero 10 that works fine, but I haven't been using it that much recently. My first thought was to upgrade to a newer Hero since I'm familiar with the gopro ecosystem. But for my main use cases of cycling and random outdoor travel clips, I feel like it could end up being the same type of shots just with better specs.

I've been looking at 360 cameras instead since they seem potentially more fun than just getting another action cam. Also noticed that Insta360 has a trade-in offer going on, so I'm wondering if now might be the time to trade in my Hero 10 and try a different shooting style.

Any thoughts or suggestions? TIA!

Mission 1 pro

Hey guys,
Bit of an interesting use case. I own a cheerleading gym and currently own a hero 7 black and a dji osmo pocket 3.

I know there is a lot of enthusiasts so please dont bite my head off 😂 so hear me out! With the pre orders out for the mission 1 i think it might suit me well.

I need a higher fov than my hero 7 (im thinking 11/12/13 hyper view levels) but i also need the cinematography style of videos for social media.

With a gimbal whats everyone’s thoughts of selling the pocket 3 pre ordering the mission 1 pro and selling the hero 7 when it arrives?

Upcoming Mission 1 AMA's with Abe (May 28) and Pablo (June 2)!

Hey r/GoPro!

With all of the excitement around the upcoming Mission 1 camera launch, we're happy to announce that we have TWO Ask-Me-Anything events on the schedule with GoPro employees this year!

Our "standard" format here is to do a "day-long" AMA (where they can drop in an answer questions between meetings, etc) and to open the thread early to collect questions, so save the date(s) and drop in to get your questions answered about all things GoPro and Mission 1! We'll have our usual related activities as well (IYKYK), so be sure to show up an participate!

Abe Kislevitz - May 28th, 10AM-6PM PT (1PM-9PM ET)

If you've been on the subreddit the last month, you've already seen Abe's Mission 1 Videos getting posted here. He's a Product and Brand Fellow at GoPro, renowned creative director, and has been an influential voice in GoPro product development for over 15 years. Just take a glimpse at his socials, and you'll get a good idea of the kind of authority he brings to the conversation. Come ask him about using and shooting with the Mission 1, favorite settings or lenses for the Mission 1 ILS, or anything else on "Mission 1 day," May 28th!

Pablo Lema - June 2, 7AM-2PM ET

(Yes, timing is a little odd for our western-hemisphere redditors on this one due to Pablo's availability, but we'll open the thread extra early so the it can populate with questions)

Pablo has been a long time supporter and participant here on the subreddit, and he's no stranger to AMAs with us. He's GoPro's head of hardware and software product, and brings extensive knowledge from the product development side of things. Come ask Pablo about how GoPro creates product, makes decisions on features, or anything else on June 2!

If you have questions regarding the upcoming AMA's, please send them to modmail! This thread will be locked so there's no confusion about when and where you are supposed to ask your questions. Thanks!

*Sad Trombone sounds* My kid threw my MAX2 into a lake

sigh We go to waterparks all the time and I have my MAX2 (or HERO13) on a floating selfie stick. This weekend we went camping and went to the beach and waded about chest deep.

My kid decided to throw my MAX2 at me and didn't realize it wasn't going to float.

We searched for 30-40 minutes but the water was too cold/choppy and murky and came up empty =(

GoPro support says lost GoPros aren't part of the subscription program and gave me a pity 15% discount on another one.

Anyone know when the MAX(1) can be subscription replaced with a MAX2?

Gave my old Hero 4 ND adapter a new life!

was just sitting there in my camera bag and figured I'd give it a try, no vignetting and the filter doesn't crash into the gp mount flange, could probably squirt some black rtv silicone around the base of the filter adapter to regain some waterproofing but it doesn't get used around water and it lives with the battery door off for charging/power while filming. I had already modified it to use with my Hero 4black so besides grinding down the backside of the adapter I'm not sure if any more modifications are needed with a brand new one, going to grind down the outer edges of the gpmount flange so it sits a little deeper into the ND adapter giving the screws a little more bite, right now the only screws holding it on are the 3 screws just around the lens flange. Will it overheat?? 😬😬

Still figuring out the best way to organize GoPro gear in this, anyone got a better setup?
