Save me

Blue images are myself last time and yellow is what I got now.

18F btw.

I've been going to the same hair dressers for 5 years and I've had no issues. Last time I went I got a shag and it was epic and I used my own pictures of myself as a reference.

When I was getting my hair washed the way the hairdresser was doing it felt strange so I had a gut feeling that something was gonna go wrong. Also when I showed him the pictures he didn't even ask any follow ups or properly consult what to do like the other hairdressers did last time.

I noticed when he was cutting around my ear it didn't look right so I let him know I like the front pieces long and for it to be cut around my ear and I used my finger to show where to cut. He proceeded to cut the front pieces off. I also let him know my fringe was a little too long. It was on my nose and I wanted it on my eyebrow. He cut an inch above my eyebrow. It all happened so fast and cuz of how he was cutting i couldn't really see what was happening so I couldn't tell him to stop.

I look horrendous. I told him to his face it was good but the whole time my hair was being done my heart was racing and I've never felt that way at a hairdressers before. As soon as I left I cried and hid in my car and my parents had to buy me a hat from a random shop so I can go outside. When I got to the car my mum stormed in and complained for me so we may or may not get a refund.

To make matters worse I have prom in 2 weeks. Is there anything I can do? I feel so bad and ugly I can't look at myself in the mirror without feeling sick and tears well up in my eyes whenever I look at myself.

I know from your perspective you're probably thinking it's not that bad but that's because you don't have this haircut yourself.

My boyfriend came over today to tell me he wants to do this to himself… He has gorgeous hair and a great hairstyle, but he wants to shave it all off.

I don't know how to react—as far as I'm concerned, that trend was left behind back in the '80s.

Haircut advice?

Want to keep overall length if possible, but was considering an undercut on the sides.
