Anyone in Winnipeg tryna start a mincecore band?
I play drums and do vocals, looking for a guitarist, preferably someone around my age 14-17

How do you guys feel about the short-lived City Hunter? I see a lot of accusations of "gimmick band" that get thrown around, but I'm always down for a good gimmick if Mark McCoy / YA are handling the art direction.
I think the heavy / evil sound of the record really dovetails nicely with the lyrical content, and even though "mysterious guy" hardcore can get tired, these guys pulled it off.
Yeah idk how they can defend this at this point
What other political hardcore you guys feeling rn?
I made a Hardcore Punk album back in 1989 when I was 12 years old with my late brother (drums) and my childhood best friend (bass). I sang and played guitar and if I remember correctly, it wasn't very good. It was basically just 3 teens making as heavy/fast paced punk that we could for our ages, taking heavy "inspiration" from our favorite punk bands.
I lost the ONLY cassette of the album for the longest time until I finally found it in the basement of my parents home. If I remember correctly, I think we used a c90 tape because we just repeated the four songs over and over on the tape just to fill out the time (as the album itself is only 4 songs long and about 5-6 minutes)
I haven't read about it anywhere so I might be wrong for saying this, but I highly doubt these New Yorkers have heard about Acid Bath back in the 90s, which is funny since they've done the same exact mixture of genres with primarily being a Hardcore band with Bluesy Southern Doom Metal influences (I am aware that Acid Bath origins started with being heavily inspired by Exhorder).
Anyway i love the two albums they pulled out. Despite the lo-fi production, I personally think "Pain Is Truth" is actually way more consistent than the following infamous "Nine Ways To Say I Love You".
Is it true that the main vocalist was not only a insufferable junkie but also a groomer/pedophile? I really can't find any sources on these accusations but i've seen a group of people around saying that in multiple websites and old uploads.
What a powerful concert; I saw Discharge in this same venue a few years ago, but they were not nearly as intense. High-quality Crust and Hardcore that simply does not age.
Somebody in this sub just mentioned Avril Lavigne and I had to check to make sure there wasn't a rad punk band named Avril Lavigne. Im old, out of touch, and as weird as that sounds its a totally plausible possibility.
At one point, probably 25 yrs ago, we booked a band called Chuck Norris. Some were expecting Chuck Norris (a punk band) but it turned out to be Chuck Norris (a different punk band) instead. Not to be confused with Chuck Norris, xChuckxNorrisx, or Chuck Norris Experiment. If i recall, Chuck Norris had to change their name due to legal pressure from Chuck Norris (the person, not the other band).
Theres a solid history of metal bands named after historical figures (Bathory, Tesla, Abigail, etc). But goofballs took it to the next level and started naming after contemporary living people. There were multiple bands named after Tommy Lasorda of all people, the manager for the LA Dodgers.
Why? I don't know. Where did this trend start? Charles Bronson? That crazy motherfucker was alive until well after the band broke up.
Being a masshole i’ve always wanted to check out the boston hardcore scene and this song got me into boston hardcore 😤💪 (great starting choice ik)
