Power Plants

How come everyone talks about the outdated coal plants they want energy companies to pay billions to reopen and no one ever talks about the only power plant we had on APG that incinerated trash and produced energy? On top of that we truck our garbage to Baltimore county because we don't have a suitable landfill for our waste. Seems like a win win opportunity.....

Another smoke shop in Bel Air?

These things are opening everywhere. I love weed but these stores are so trashy looking especially being right next to "discount liquor". They have to be a front for money laundering or something right?

Used car

I was hoping someone could recommend a reputable used car lot. My niece is 16 and about to get her license and she’s ready to purchase her first car. I’ve read too many times about predatory places, does anyone know a safe place? She plans on purchasing it outright, she has a few thousand saved from an account her grandmother started when she was born.

Thanks!

what does everyone do for work here?

hi everyone,

i recently moved back to my hometown (harford county, md) and it’s been years since i’ve been back. it seems like the area is rapidly expanding with several homes being built and more businesses (food, retail) being accessible.

i’m wondering what everyone in this area does for work? i recently accepted a position in the DC area where I’ll be working in marketing (however most of my job is remote).

it’s my goal to eventually have a home here. anyone have advice? i know the economy is rough right now but i really would love to be a homeowner here one day.

BA Farmer's Market Donuts?

I frequent the Bel Air Farmer's Market, but I usually get there around 9:30/10. This morning I was up early and so got there shortly after they opened at 8 and came across a vendor I've never seen at the later time. Guy was in an unmarked tent selling these absolutely gorgeous looking pastries and donuts, with a long line of people buying them. I am a total sucker for that sort of thing so I pick up 6 pastries to take home for the family to try.

The seller had no signage at all, including organization name, product info, or prices. I assumed they'd be $4-5 each. With the Farmer's Market Mark-up, I could begrudgingly see $6 each. When I checked my credit card app I was shocked to see a $52 dollar charge... which means over EIGHT DOLLARS a pastry.

Obviously this is my own fault for not asking about prices, but this is absurd. Genuinely so high I'm wondering if there was a mis-type. I did ask the seller who the organization was but he basically just told me it was a local bakery, so I have no way to contact him to ask about the price. Has anyone else ever dealt with this?

In any case, these better be the best pastries of my life.

Any experience with Grind Gyms personal training in Edgewood?

I am in need of a personal training to help me and was not impressed by Coppermine--or more accurately, that is more than I need. I just need someone to help me regain the strength I have lost due to age and hormones.

CBD Gummies in the area?

Hey there, I have a disabled family member who uses cbd and thc for pain management for a chronic pain issue. Sometimes they find it helpful to take extra CBD in addition to the gummies they normally use for certain types of pain, so I am in search of a store nearby with quality CBD Gummies (not the ones where they just soak already made gummies in cbd oil). At one point you cough but the koi gummies at RoFo but they have discontinued them, and most smoke shops in the area seem to be phasing gummies out in favor of more vapes.

Skin Dipt in Bel Air was used in the past but the past two times I went there they sold me expired product, so I have no trust left for them.

(My family member cannot vape and oils/other products are much harder for them to dose themselves due to their medical condition. It is just simply much easier and safer for them to take premeasured gummies. I know some people roll their eyes at people who use the gummies, but I really don’t need a sermon on why I should switch to XYZ method for cbd.)

Thanks for your advice in advance!

battery mower repair?

Is there anywhere local that services Greenworks 80V battery lawnmowers? I know about Aberdeen Power Equipment, but they only service gas mowers.
