Gauging interest on a meetup. If there's enough people interested, I know we can get a room from parks and rec to meet in or could be as informal as grabbing a table at the keg. I'd be willing to teach picking as well if you aren't already established in the sport! The more the merrier!

Moved to a new place in town a few weeks ago and have had issues with garbage pickup. Today they did not touch a can that had broken down cardboard boxes and then left it open for styrofoam and packing inserts to blow through the yard.

I’ve looked up and down the city sanitation page and there’s no rule that says cardboard can’t go in a can. Am I missing something or do I have a garbage man problem? Any tips?

Hey guys, I’ve recently been wasting literally all my time looking for jobs that have just been rejecting me. I feel like there’s something wrong with me because I thought all of my interviews have been great. I’ve spent lots of time perfecting my resume and I have a year of experience in a healthcare setting. I quit my last job because it was drive me crazy to do school full time and work full time. I wish there were more jobs for nursing students and more jobs in general in Hattiesburg. I’ve interviewed at fgh for student nurse tech and it’s been a month that I haven’t heard back even after I reached out again. I’m a good student, a very hard worker, and I get along with almost everyone and I’m open minded and want to learn from others. I just don’t understand. It’s making me very depressed and I’ve been drinking a lot more than I should. I just don’t want to live in Hattiesburg anymore, it’s making me so miserable, isolated, and depressed. Sorry for the trauma dump, but does anyone have any resources for a healthcare job that’s preferably not full time lmao. It would greatly be appreciated.

The streets and all surrounding lights look INSANE. Driving down 59 North, thought it was rain hitting my car until I looked in my rearview mirror and saw termites everywhere. God. Does anyone know when this ends?

I hardly know anyone for the moment, so if anyone’s interested in just getting together and hanging out feel free to hit me up. On another note, here’s some quick facts about myself:

• I’m 21 yo male and I’m majoring in accounting at USM.

• I love anime/manga, kpop, video games, dancing, singing, and sleeping lol.

When I lived in Mississippi it was located in some speck (I think) east of McComb. Heard they moved to Hattiesburg then moved again. Pure bliss.

Could someone recommend a person / company with the proper equipment for seeding of a new lawn?

I am having the stumps ground and the yard smoothed out before hand.

I’ve tried everything. The meds, different brands, placing the meds on different parts of my dogs’ bodies, vacuuming, washing, OTC sprays, the exterminators came and sprayed two times…and still, if I look hard enough, I can ALWAYS find anywhere from like 1-5 fleas on my dogs.

The meds seem to be working because I find dead ticks on them sometimes.

I just can’t seem to fully get rid of the fleas no matter what I do.

So I am a student at USM and I am having to move this summer to an apartment. I am in a wheelchair and recieve a monthly disability check since I can't really work a server job or other "college" job. From what I've seen, The Mark are the only ones that are close to being affordable for me. I can't really have roomates because of privacy complications (being transferred to the shower etc) with my PCA, so I need a place to myself ideally. As I said, The Mark seem like the cheapest in town but that kinda concerns me cause why are they so much cheaper, you know? If anybody has any thoughts or can recommend other places please let me know

I'm moving to Hattiesburg in the fall and I'll be teaching at USM. I hate driving, so I'm looking for an 2BR spot that's within cycling distance to campus? The dilemma is that I want to be close, but not so close that all my neighbors are students. Any ideas?

I’ve seen tons (at least 20) wingless termites in my house tonight, I have yet to see any piles of wings.

I know the rain made them swarm but should I still get an inspection to be sure?

Hey yall, I’m planning on moving in to Turtle Creek this August, and I will be getting a Quaker parrot this summer before I move in. I haven’t met the little guy yet but I know generally parrots can be occasionally be pretty loud while some can always be pretty loud, and I just want to get a feel for what my future neighbors might think.

How is the noise policy for yall, or do yall have any noisy neighbors in general?

Hi all! I’ll be moving in from from ATX pretty soon for med school, and i’m wondering what the vibe is regarding queer people around the city. Now, mind you, i’ve been in the south my whole life so i understand the context i’m in. I also understand that austin, texas is likely QUITE a different energy.

While i don’t plan on voguing down to the nearest coffee shop, i’m pretty obviously a gay guy. I’m not necessarily trying to get into the nightlife scene or anything - but how much will i have to worry about this? Am i gonna have to put on my straight (bisexual at best) voice? Get rid of my 3 inch inseam shorts? Start wearing carhartt?

I’m thinking that while yes its the south and its mississippi there’s like 2 universities there soooo hopefully its not a huge issue.
