LONG, descriptive post ahead. Tried posting in cat weirdos, and figured there might be some ferret owners on reddit vs Facebook, but long shot nonetheless!

Hey all! Bit of an odd question: Would anyone here familiar with ferrets and would be willing/open to pet sitting our 6 year old girl (Wednesday aka Wetzle or Wetzie) for 2 weeks from June 1- June 16.

We get back June 16 at 6:45 PM and would pick her up that same evening (barring any flight delays ofc)

The problem is is that we would need someone to house her (with her cage, etc.. read below), as she needs medicine twice daily and needs to eat every couple of hours cause she's an older girl and gets soupy food. (Sounds weirder than it is lol)

Considerations:

• She has insulinoma, she gets 0.1 mL of predisolone twice a day. This is a MUST.

• typically she’s hungry every 3-4 hours and we try to keep her blood sugar up with more frequent feeds, I WFH so I’m usually around to give it to her, ideally, you/your partner/teen/etc. would be able to at least feed her every 4ish hours during the day --- (I usually do 8 AM meds/food, 12 PM food, 4 PM food, 7/8 PM meds/food and if i'm up later till like 10, I give her a bedtime meal)

• she cannot play with other animals! She does NOT like to play with cats, dogs, etc. she gets scared and will hide. Same with kids. She is old, and our fragile girl (we just had to say goodbye to her sister two weeks ago, DIP 🫶) so we ideally don't want young kids playing with her.

• She never bites, she is a sweet lil old lady. She likes cuddles, exploring, laying in towels and clothes BIG time, I usually give her a pile of towels in her white kennel (pictured below) as it's her fav thing to tunnel around in.

We have ALL items:
• She has a 3 story cage we will bring for her! She does have her white pen as pic'd below, but we're not expecting you to set that up LOL
• We have food, potty pads, toys, treats, gloves (for the pee pads lol), etc.
• We use pee pads instead of litter, because we're a bit cautious about her health and she's had a small mass on her paw, so we've just stuck to em since then (easier than litter in our opinion)

All we need is a lil homebody who wants a little friend for two weeks and ofc to send us updates :')

Pics are to show what her “home” looks like at our place (she typically just free roams my office all day until she's over it) but ferrets are escape artists so we do not want her free roaming at your place please lol) + pics of her cage, and her ☺️

Right now we have about $200-$300 saved to offer as payment, if this sounds reasonable to you- please reach out to me! But I’m also very open to trade (we have an automatic litter box we were wanting to sell on FB that we could offer for trade rather than full $ payment, I sew so I can offer clothes mending, I garden and am handy with moving/cleaning/painting and have lots of houseplants to trade [thai cons, philos, some pothos, ferns, etc])

Thanks in advance for any help/insight yall may have. I feel like this post is a ramble- happy to chat on the phone or meet up or whatever! We want to obviously feel comfortable with you, and want the same.

ALSO- I realize how potentially sketchy this seems, asking strangers, but I think about it like if I saw a post about a ferret mom looking for someone, I’d be the first to volunteer/comment too and hoping for good humans. I HAVE thought of pet boarding- but do any of you even know if they board “exotics”?

Her cage: it's about 5 ft tall and 30 inch wide? It's doesn't take up too much width space, she's just a bit tall :)

Long story short: We would love for a calm, responsible human to love our ferret for two weeks! We bring her to you, give you all the things, and then come pick her up two weeks later. You don’t have to worry about a THING other than giving her love and meds lol.

We had a friend who watched her the last time we left, but when we asked her to watch our cats, we came home to shit everywhere and no litter in their boxes so ideally, we’d like someone a bit more responsible/someone who WFH

Please no hate. I know this is a ramble post at this point. Just hoping to find a ferret loving human in the area :)
