I wrote Senator Thom Tillis, and Tillis' Office wrote this constituent letter (Note: not formatted)

Thank you for contacting me about the confirmation of Attorney General Todd Blanche. I appreciate hearing from you. I strongly believe that vetting executive branch nominees is one of the most important responsibilities as a United States Senator. The American people deserve public officials who will faithfully uphold the Constitution and enforce the law fairly and impartially. From the outset, I made clear that I needed binding written commitments addressing two concerns: limiting the IRS audit settlement to the parties to the agreement and formally terminating the Anti-Weaponization Fund. I am pleased that the Department of Justice has now issued formal orders addressing my concerns. The DOJ has terminated the Anti-Weaponization Fund and confirmed in writing that the audit settlement is limited to the plaintiffs and does not extend beyond the defendants in the lawsuit, the IRS and Treasury Department. These actions provide the clarity and legal assurances I sought, and address concerns shared by several of my Republican colleagues. Based on these commitments, I supported Mr. Blanche's nomination and look forward to working with him to restore confidence in the DOJ. As a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, I will continue to carefully evaluate executive branch nominees and support qualified individuals who will serve the American people with integrity. Again, thank you for taking the time to contact me. Please do not hesitate to contact me again about other important issues.

GRANDAD'S APPLES | Try The Carmel Apple Oatmeal Cookie ($2)

Kudos to the bakery for outstanding carmel apple oatmeal cookies. I'll be back. I also enjoyed the Apple Cider Slushee (a light refreshing version of enjoying Apple Cider). You can either buy or pick your apples on-site too.

Great to sit outback on the rocking chairs, enjoy the view. Easy in/Easy out parking on a Friday afternoon. No crowds. As we approach Apple Festival, strongly encourage everyone to visit. Located just off the Interstate.

Note For Folks With Limitations: No A/C seating. No indoor seating at the bakery. Rocking Chairs outside covered by Metal. Handi-Cap Parking available. No Stairs. Easy For Wheelchair to move. Will need help reaching merchandise/apples. Lots of customer service.

Perhaps, NC State Legislature Should Put Guardrails On What Voter Roll Information Can Be Sold

I read the White House "China's Acquisition and Exploitation of American Voter Data" information. The President went out of his way to declassify a document where there's a line stating ".... the North Carolina data contained information for over 8 million voters...."

Well, I'll take a first stab at what he might be pointing out.

Trump is angry that NC State Legislature is selling our state voter rolls: $25 on CD-ROM, with most of your critical information, like driver's license, birth date, place of birth, phone number, complete home address, race, ethnicity, sex/gender, first/middle/last name, voter status.

I understand the need for research but I'm surprised at the level of access to personal information offered. Perhaps, the state legislature can move quickly to protect our data.

Chuck Edwards Has Not Disclosed His Financial Information To Run For Congress

I hope our local media makes a full court press for information that is routine and necessary for our federal elections. I look forward to the first reporter that gets the question asked and the new disclosure information published.

North Carolina Utilities Commission: Your electrical bill base rate and Data Center connection to the electrical grid

Listen.

The man on the right is North Carolina Government staff at the Utilities Commission. The man in the middle who barely speaks is Duke Energy. You are hearing questions from one of the Commissioners.

You are told the costs to connect data centers to the grid are rolled into the base rate you see on your bill and we're all sharing the costs incurred.

Our electrical bills will increase. The hype these businesses don't increase our home costs is a lie.
