Jet Sizes

Hello! I need some help people. I plan to put these pipes on my 2004 VT750C Aero. Motor is completely stock, still keeping the stock air box as of right now.

I’m trying to figure out what jet sizes I need for both the main and pilot, how should I set the mixture screw, if I’ll need any shims for the needle, that kind of stuff.

I appreciate any and all help and answers, thanks!

Bike is acting weird

2007 Honda shadow 1100

Video of of my front wheel and brake. Is it supposed to sound like that? It does sound worse in the video but still. Are they supposed to be touching like that?

Also and what I'm mainly worried about... my steering feels very weird sometimes when I'm taking a turn like to the left or right onto another street

I didn't feel anything the first few times riding with my lady and then we went somewhere and it felt like the bike was going to lose control. Very strange feeling.

I checked the fork but holding break and pushing down but I don't really have a frame of reference for how it's supposed to be.

Ticking Noise Around Alternator

Video is below, the wind noise makes it hard to hear so you have to listen closely. Ticking noise only seems to happen at 20-25mph +. Just got the bike last week and haven’t got out of the neighborhood yet so I’m not sure if it worsens over 30-35mph. Any ideas? Concerning or am I over thinking it? It’s on the left side around the engine/alternator area. 2005 Shadow Aero 750.

Thanks

Big dummy here, is this hose on the top of the coolant tank supposed to be disconnected like this?

83’ 750 startup issue

What’s goin on yall! I just picked up this 83’ Shadow 750 at a garage sale. I know little to nothing abt bikes but wanted a project to learn about engines. Swapped the battery and spark plugs so now she tries to start but I’m getting this sound. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Starting ‘83 Shadow VT500C

First-time motorcycle owner, just picked up this ‘83 Shadow for cheap from a buddy who “just wanted it gone” as a starter bike.

It’s been sitting in his heated garage for about 5 years, looking for help and advice on what my next steps should be to get it running and on the road.

It was parked with the intention of riding it, but he never got around to it, so it wasn’t prepped for storage, still has gas in it and such.

Does this sound bad on 1984 VT700c? I hear these are noisy but this sounds knocky.

Side note, boots are old and have very minor air leak so I reckon it is slightly lean

1993 VT1100c project bike fuel help

Hi all, I got a 1993 Honda shadow VT1100c as a project bike for cheap. The previous owner said that the engine sputtered out and died, with no mechanical grinding or cranking. They also told me that they sold the fuel pump off it to someone else. My question is, does this bike actually have a fuel pump/need one?

Currently, the fuel hose from the gas tank petcock goes down underneath the bike into a fuel filter and goes back up again into the carbs. It doesn't look like there is any room to put a fuel pump in nor can I find any wiring for it on the bike. In this image, the hose that is circled connects to the black cylinder there. On my bike, the hose out of that black cylinder, that is going down between the two piston heads is not connected to anything else.

I am hearing and seeing different things from different sources. One source is saying that this bike never had a fuel pump and the loose hose connects to a nipple on the other side of the gas tank to make a vaccuum of some sort. Another source is saying there should be a spot somewhere to mount the fuel pump and the loose hose is a atmosphere vent hose and the empty nipple on the tank is also a vent.

Got her back on the road again!

Bought a non running 1990 VT600C for $1000. Did some basic fixes and she is riding good enough to attend the 2026 Distinguished Gentleman's Ride raising awareness for prostate cancer.

Just need to put new fork seals, sand off some rust and she will be mint!

Baby's first bike

I've only ever ridden my old man's moped and a couple of friend's bikes until this point, but have always had a blast doing so. After a lot of research and deliberation, I nabbed myself a 2025 Shadow Phantom :)

Runs and rides great, and I, as an apartment-dweller, am VERY excited about having the reduced maintenance load that comes with shaft drive and fuel injection. Any tips/tricks I should know about these bikes in particular?

I could really use some help figuring out what’s wrong with my ‘94 VT600 after I had a shop rebuild the carb.

I’d like to preface that I’m very new to riding, I don’t really know shit about bikes.

So here’s the problems, or at least what’s different from before. It idles fine on initial start but after you ride it a bit, it begins idling high, even if you come to a stop and let the rpms get real low before pulling in the clutch, they jump right back up as soon as you pull the clutch in.

When you rev it a little (as shown in the video) the rpms don’t go down, the shop I took it to had recommended I spray WD40 on the throttle cable assembly but that did nothing.

Also, when I’m riding in 3rd gear at 35-45mph, it feels like it’s stumbling and unlike before, there’s very little engine braking anymore when I shift down.

Fixable dent?

I recently bought back my first bike and it has always had this dent in the side if the tank, its an 07 Shadow Aero so new tanks are obscenely priced due to the offset fuel filler cap and gauge cluster mount, I dont want to chop or put a peanut tank on this bike I would like to keep it all stock. So is it repairable by me or a professional or not? I dont mind if it needs a repaint after the repair.

Probably the dumbest thing I’ve done

Didn’t have a bike jack and needed to replace the rear tire. Major improvisations, probably not the smartest thing I’ve done in my life. But it did work

Have an 04 Honda shadow vlx600 and the engine seems to be working a little too hard around 50mph and is screaming at 70 and above?
