Hi Y'all this is Dan from VRTX just wanted to introduce ourselves. If you haven't heard we're a relatively new venue in Houston. We've done a lot of DJ shows but are looking to expand into more live bands filling the space. Primarily shoegaze, indie, and alt rock genres.

Curious to hear from the community and promoters how to facilitate that. We come from the edm scene so it feels like we're a fish out of water here.

What do you guys look for to book a venue or what's the best method to get live bands in a space?

edit: lots of good suggestions. to expand on this. When working with promoters what do we look out for? What's a good promoter, what's a not so good one. How do we even find them?

Hey I was just wondering if anyone in here is going to the Houston show?

I'm a guitarist, 18-21 age range preferred, looking to start an original band.

Currently looking for:
•Drummer
•Bassist
• Vocalist
•Second guitarist

My biggest influences are Linkin Park, System of a Down, Michael Jackson, Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson, Pantera, Static-X, Disturbed, Korn, and Stone Temple Pilots.

I want to make something mostly heavy, catchy, groovy and energetic but I'm open to making a few softer things

The goal is to:
• Write original music
• hangout often
• Practice/jam consistently
• Develop our own sound
• Record music eventually
• play shows eventually
• Take the band seriously while still having fun doing it
