TGIT 📺🍿

Do you remember when Shonda Rhimes had everyone tuning in every Thursday night for back-to-back episodes of Grey's Anatomy and Scandal? Unfortunately, I wasn’t watching during that era, but I later binge-watched Scandal and How to

Get Away with Murder at the same time.

I also loved the crossover episode between Scandal and How to Get Away with Murder. I wish Grey's Anatomy was in the same universe so they could’ve done a crossover called “How Grey’s Got Away With Scandal.” 😂

Shonda Rhimes really inspires me to one day build my own production company.

Question

Is anyone as happy as me that Annalise won her trial in season 6?

She was twisted but the Keating 5 were ABSOLUTELY to blame for everything.

It all started with them (Keating 4 in season 1) and Annalise was not a victim, but she’s the only one who NEVER committed any type of murder. It all started with them and it ended with them.

I’ve never ever seen AK as a villain. Just a fierce protector with her flaws and her fair share of illegal activities (all explained by the Keating 5’s actions + Bonnie and Frank)

This scene made me forgive Michaela

From my perspective, it wasn't justified, but this girl made me cry in the last season, tbh

HWGAWM Pod 109

Just catching up on the pod & the guys are talking about whether it would have >!been a good idea to throw Sam’s body on the bonfire!<. It inspired me to share my experience as I think it is relevant.

My friend & I volunteered to help build the bonfire at our local cricket club for their annual Bonfire Night festivities (every 5th of November we celebrate a group of guys who failed to blow up the Houses of Parliament it’s a whole thing.) We were piling all the donations of old furniture and things that people wanted rid of. In amongst it all we came across a dead rat.

We thought this was an opportunity to give the rat a good send off and added it to the bonfire thinking it would serve as a funeral pyre. The word “added” is doing a lot of heavy lifting here, what we actually did was use a pitchfork like a catapult to send it soaring into what would become the bonfire, which totally detracted from the dignified send off we were hoping to give it.

Cut to hours later. It’s now the evening, Bonfire Night is in full swing. We arrive at the club with our wider friend group. There are some mutterings about how bad the bonfire smells this year, we think nothing of it. Smoke is hardly known for being a nice smell. We make our way to the Bonfire and holy bubonic plague… the smell.

What my friend and I had forgotten is that rats are made up of flesh and hair… two things notorious for smelling awful when burned. We do not confess our sin and instead agree that there’s something off about the Bonfire this year and wander away, innocent as anything.

>!All this to say that as bad as that poor rat smelled, I imagine a whole grown man would be a whole new level of nasal offence. Therefore, I think not adding Sam to the bonfire was actually the only good decision the characters made that night.!<

Season 4 thoughts( slight Laurel hate rant)

For the past weeks I’ve been binge watching the show and I’m now half way through season 4. The first three seasons were so good. In season 4 I love Annalise’s story line and I swear it’s been what’s kept me but every time Laurel pops up on screen I can’t help but audibly sigh. I didn’t mind her character in season 1 & 2 but she still wasn’t a favorite but now bringing her to the front in season 4 she’s been such an annoying character. And honestly she feels so male centered and I think that bothers me too I’m wondering if I’ll drop the show or keep going I want to make it to the end.

Opinions on frank

Im only on season 3 but I genuinely feel so bad for frank. Like I feel like there is more to learn about him that made him the way he is. I know hes emotionally damaged and hes capable of killing and hes done so many wrongs but he feels bad. I feel so bad for him when he runs away and yes annalise has the right to never forgive him for what he did to her baby but I just feel so bad. I genuinely like him. I dont know if my opinion will change by the end but im hoping we learn more about him in other seasons.

Final season and series finale

Um... the final season was interesting but the series finale felt like overkill ngl, and i dont know how to feel.

I get killing off Frank, because of his character in the show. I didnt really see him living past learning about killing the baby tbh. Bonnie im a little meh on, but honestly, all of them needed to go considering the shit they did, and Annaliese needed a "new start". The whole where they were in the future was completely unncessary, the trial and post-trial moment summed it up fine.

I thought they'd do better for Mikaela'a character overall. Personally, i didnt really like her character development. Not being able to handle the hiding the body in season 1, but seasons later she is "i experienced all this trauma as a kid, so i can handle living with this and doing these things". Its like they tried to give her character more depth but in the wrong way. No offence, but if you grow up in "survival", you may react to have to do something criminal but you know well enough not scream and cry and go to the police. I liked her in season 5 and 6 for the most part, her monologue about being her ancestors biggest dream was peak, but the whole "im getting a better deal fuck yall" behaviour was out of turn with the whole Connor-loyalty relationship. I guess she us her fathers daughter.

Connor, brother was like the least criminally liable person the keating 5, the only one who felt consistent guily for it across seasons, and the only one who went to jail lmao

For Oliver, i just think they didnt know what to do with his character so he just did all this insane shit that never really impacted the storyline, until the attempted probation only immunity deal.

Ashers plot twist icked me so bad, but also in line with his character and he pissed me off. I would have like an alternative out for him, but whatever, he didnt really do much overall. I thought hed be written out in season 2.

Laurel, the only character who i feel like was done right and actually developed correctly. She knew her family and disappeared, she did what was best for herself, and she actually, did right by Annaliese on the stand.

Annaliese, honestly, i think she got what she deserved. While she spent the entire series "protecting" her kids, ultimately, she failed. They really ended up learning accountability one way or another, which is fair enough and really, as a result of trying to protect everyone she effectively lost all of those people for it. I certaintly dont think she deserved criminal liability for it, but otherwise, universally, she paid.

Nate ruined everything, fuck Nate. His whole final arc was "Annaliese villain", i hated that for him.

The whole FBI thing ended being lame, i was excited for the double agent pollick to do something, but Nate spent the entire season ruining everything for Annaliese and trying to have her pay for his pain.

I get it was rushed, and its not the worst ending, but damn, they didnt need to do so much. I spent so many scenes watching the immunity deal shit, and that didnt even matter in the end, the keating 5 were legitimately better off not testifying at all, which is what they all knew, which is annoying.

Anyway, at least they wrapped it up.

i just finished watching season 6 and the finale was genuinely the best ending imo, i wish there were less plot twists, sam being frank's dad was unnecessary, yes the season was insanely rushed but the storyline was so bittersweet i was suprised to see wes again haha i hadnt realized they casted alfred as christopher, jorge's death was out of nowhere? no backstory as to how that happeend.....i adored seeing the k3 all old and wrinkly i just wish we would've known how annalise was after bonnie and franks death, i hated how almost everyone was killed off and i also wouldve liked to see more into what happened with oliver and connor and how their marriage was and how michaelas life went after eveyone abandoned her i'd rate the finale ep a solid 9.6 and the show overall an 8.7 even though the season itself was okay i wouldn't have changed the ending
