Lake Norman Charter - follow IEPs - I know they are supposed to by NC law, but I heard from other parents.....

Hello and good afternoon - was wondering what parents have experienced about Lake Norman Charter School and following IEPs. I know, as a charter school in the state of NC, they have to legally, but I have heard from other parents that is not the case sometimes and parents transfer out because of it....just started there in elementary school and wanted to see what everyone's feedback as been. I have no opinion yet, just looking for previous experience and things to look out for if need be. Thanks for the insight and wishing everyone all the best....

Who are all these cars

ELI5: why does there seem to be a nonstop constant flow of traffic eastbound from Denver on 73. It’s literally an endless line of cars, are that many people in Denver needing to come to Huntersville or am I missing something?

Sheetz gas station proposed at Eastfield Rd & Prosperity Church Rd — neighbors are organizing in opposition (we already have FIVE gas stations!)

I wanted to bring something happening in our area to the attention of the Charlotte/Huntersville community. I live two blocks from this proposed development so it's very personal to me, my family, and my neighbors.

A Sheetz gas station is being proposed for the corner of Eastfield Rd & Prosperity Church Rd, and the rezoning is currently moving through the process.

I know there’s already a lot of development happening around here — the construction behind across the street is expected to become a McDonald’s and Taco Bell. We can't stop every development project, nor should we. But I do think it's worth asking whether another gas station is really the best use for this particular corner, especially when there are already 5 gas stations within a 2 mile radius of this spot.

And to be clear: I actually like Sheetz. This isn't about being anti-Sheetz. It's about whether this location is the right place for another gas station and what our community could get instead.

A group of Eastfield Ridge neighbors have put together a small campaign website and petition to raise awareness and encourage City Council to deny the proposed rezoning:

If you live anywhere in Charlotte (particularly Huntersville or District 4 - University area), please take a look, sign if you agree, and share it with anyone who might be affected. Even if you don't live in this area, I'd genuinely be interested in hearing what other Charlotte residents think about the proposed development.

We're also looking for neighbors who want to help with things like:

  • Door-to-door/community outreach
  • Flyers
  • Yard signs (printed or homemade?)
  • Organizing neighborhood meetups
  • Getting the word out online

If you're interested in helping, feel free to comment or send me a DM.

We're your neighbors, too, and we're just trying to make sure the people who actually live here have a voice in what happens at this intersection.

Dentist recommendation?

New to the Huntersville area, looking for a good dentist in the area and I want some real suggestions other than Google. Don't have dental insurance. Anything helps!
