Fireworks
Am I the only one to find them louder and more excessive this year? I'm in the Shamrock Park area.
Movies
Looking to take myself and a special woman to the movies tonight. 🍿🎥
Idahoans with disabilities
Are you a person with a disability who is passionate about disability issues? State organization seeking volunteers. Looking for people in North Idaho, Central Idaho and Eastern Idaho. DMs welcome. Happy to provide further information.
Events today ?
I know about all the events going on tomorrow. I was just wondering if there was any going on today as well? Not really too picky. Just didn’t see much online about it if there is events going on today , seeing if anyone knows by word of mouth maybe
Latest time you would park for 4th?
Hey! Sorry I'm sure you guys get a lot of questions like this this time of year, but I really want to go see the fireworks celebration but I might not be able to get there until around 7:30 or 8:00 for parking. I don't necessarily want a good spot-- I'm fine if I have to walk a bit and I'm fine if have to wait a while to leave since I hear traffic is a nightmare, but would it be unreasonable to still expect there be places to park if I get there after 8? This is my first time going so I'll admit I'm not completely familiar with how crowded it is, but just wanted to get a feel for whether or not this is too late to try and find parking.
Anyone else concerned about the flock cameras here in town?
So, I've been noticing the Flock license plate cameras popping up around town and started digging into it. So, I filed a public records request with the city for the actual contract to see what data's being collected and who has access to it.
Turns out there's already a legal fight brewing over this in Caldwell, Twin Falls, and Wilder. a group called Deflock Idaho is arguing that some of these contracts let Flock use collected data to train their own AI, which they say violates the state law, limiting this data to law enforcement use only. Idaho Falls hasn't had anywhere near the same public discussion or scrutiny that those other cities have.
I haven't found any local group in Idaho Falls specifically organized around this — so if you care about this too, or want to see what turns up in my records request, drop a comment or DM me.
Edit: I have started r/idahofallsunwatched if you guys want to keep up with this beyond just the one post, records request updates, city council stuff, whatever else comes up locally around this.
USMNT July 6th game
Yoo, I need to know the best spot to watch the USA game on July 6th. I need a bar that's super hype. Any recs?
Suggestions for berry/fruit picking?
Farms/Locations? Not looking for anyone’s secret spot.
For anyone trying to get Pokemon.
These 2 guys bought all of the Fred Myers Stock. The guy on the right is a local Business owner and this behavior shouldn't be tolerated for someone who doesn't need to scalp.
Watching fireworks
Travelling to the area for the 4th. Where is a good place to watch the fireworks display where we can see them pretty well but not be trapped in traffic trying to leave? Happy to be in the wings and view from slightly afar.
Any suggestions?
Water Tower Cross Stitch
I redownloaded Reddit for the cross stitch community. This one is for all the original Idaho Falls water tower lovers. RIP!
ICE activity near Lincoln and Holmes at 2PM 6/28/26
An unmarked vehicle pulled over the driver of the camry. 3 other unmarked vehicles pulled up seconds later. They detained him for about 10 minutes but released him and quickly left when I started taking photos.
Is there a desi community here in Pocatello? I’m 25 and just moved to this area. Love it here but would love to connect with others.
(I am Indian American)
Anyone know the story behind this plaque?
I saw it yesterday between Key bank and the footbridge to the Japanese Garden. It is pretty unique compared to most of the other memorials along the Greenbelt so I was just curious.
Summer Paranormal Investigation Excursion, Anyone?
OK, so this is a little drive from Pocatello (~3hrs) and Idaho Falls (4hrs). It's also a terrific chance for a low price to actually be in a REAL paranormal investigation - like the ones you see on TV. Proceeds benefit the Ft. Bridger Historic Assn.
Thanks for taking a look!
Tattoo
What walk in tattoo shops exist around Idaho Falls? So far I've heard of Spider's Web (even though they only have walk ins on wednesdays Im pretty sure), LV Ink, etc.
I'd love something lineart or someone who is good at abstract and fine line.
Does anyone play Pokemon go?
I'm more of a casual player myself, but I'd love to walk around with someone while playing Pokemon go! I also usually play by myself, this is way out of my comfort zone to even ask, but I know it will be more fun with a group of pokemon enjoyers.
I'm 23 F, I don't want to hang out with people under 19, or people over the age of 35 (it feels weird).
