Hello all, Many of you probably already have an idea of whether you'll be joining IIT Mandi or not.

Throughout the counselling process, I've seen a lot of freshers asking questions in the counselling group, and I genuinely appreciate that. It's always a good idea to ask questions and gather as much information as possible before making such an important decision.

That said, I also believe there are many students who still hesitate to ask questions in the WhatsApp group because they're afraid of being judged and that's completely normal coming after the long and exhausting JEE journey.

This post is for those people.

I'm a 22-year-old girl and I'll be joining IIT Mandi as a research intern either the day after tomorrow or the next day. Since I'll be new there, I honestly don't want to be completely alone.

If anyone is around campus and would like to connect or become friends, I'd really appreciate it. Just looking for kind, respectful, and comfortable people to hang out with and explore the campus together.

Can anyone share glimpse of the placements 2025-26?

I came across the video circulating around IIT Mandi's North Campus few months ago , where two male students were recorded while kissing and the video was shared without their consent.

I genuinely hope they're doing okay. Regardless of the circumstances, no one deserves to have their privacy violated like this.

What kind of pathetic person records someone without their consent isn't that harassment .

If anyone knows them personally, please support them instead of spreading the video or discussing their identities.

Let's respect their privacy and make IIT Mandi a safer and more empathetic campus for everyone.

I got iit mandii aids but still doubting because of avg packages of iit mandi aids as ai and data science is new branch that has been added recently so i really wanted to ask that how much scope is there for iit mandi aids

In both the 2 rounds of josaa i got iit mandi mnc
Now im stuck because if i float there is a chance of me getting a better college(top 7IIT) but not a good branch. I do prefer electronics/computer science. I dont have much intereset in chemistry or anything related with it.
1.Can i consider IIT mandi to be a good college, ignoring the location, travelling and distance issues(i dont mind it).
2.Above iit mandi mnc there is Bhubhaneshwar CSE in my precedence list, is that better???
3.Are the professors in iit mandi friendly and lineant

I'm joining IIT Mandi this year for the BTech course and was wondering what the 1st year girls' hostel rooms actually look like. I've searched on Google, YouTube, and even the official website, but I couldn't find clear photos or a proper room tour. I also heard that the rooms are 4-seater.

If any current student or senior has photos (or can describe the room), I'd really appreciate it. I'd like to know things like:

Room size

4-seater or something else?

Furniture provided (bed, table, cupboard, etc.)

Attached or common washroom

Overall hostel experience

how's campus life in iit mandi?? what do y'all do? are there any fests?
