I'm building this for independent filmmakers, it's been about 6 months now, Tell me if this will work or not?

It all started 6 months ago as a site where you can upload your auditions, aiming to get more visibility like this. The idea slowly iterated to uploading films, renting them, Building communities with a personalized feed for each community, so that people can comment on each other's work. Building profession profiles for filmmakers like LinkedIn. Building an ecosystem around it, So that newcomers can learn from the older ones, connect with each other and eventually collaborate and create films. We have onboarded over 130 creators. They are slowly uploading their films. If you think this is gonna work, You are welcome to be one of our creators, build your profile, upload films, build your own community, We do not charge anything, Absolutely nothing. Our only source of revenue is a fee from rental transaction and ads.

✨Private Horror Film Screening Invite! ✨

Hello all, I’m hosting a screening of my new horror short in the Everyman cinema in London in a week and would love to extend an open invitation to all film makers! It would be great to connect with more creatives (bonus points if you’re into horror)

We’re also hosting drinks in a venue nearby afterwards so we can network over a beer or two! All welcome!

Drop me a message if this sounds like it might be up your street and I’ll send you a link 🫶🏼👻

I made a short film about the 2007 Bro Fight

If you were around the Stern show during the Artie Lange era, you may remember the infamous “Bro Fight” from 2007.

I've always thought the incident had the ingredients of a bizarre little piece of drama in its own right, so I decided to make a short fictionalised film inspired by it.

It's called American Comedian short, but also is labled as The bro fight 2007.

I know this subreddit has people who know the original incident inside out, so I'm particularly interested in what you think of the interpretation. Did I get the tone right?

Full film:
https://youtu.be/Fi81__pxWLE

Would genuinely love to hear what Stern fans think and I think you guys and gals would get a kick out of it one way or another.

(the event is actually a conjunction of two different shows abridged to make one big scene)

After our Kickstarter failed, we made the movie anyway...

I figured the stripped down version was better than nothing at all. So we shot with essentially no crew, kept the setups simple so we could move fast, and did all the effects in-camera. We shot the entire film in just under three weeks over the summer.

Premise: Living alone on the edge of a secluded forest, widowed farmer Malcolm Gardner keeps to a quiet routine, until a strange ten-year-old girl emerges from the trees, revealing a hidden world lurking just out of view.

Reviews have been all over the place. Some great. Some okay. A few talk about how the movie clearly was made on no money (in a negative way), which is kind of a bummer. I wonder what those people would say if Kevin Smith released Clerks today. Or if they've seen movies like Primer or Following, which Primer in particular was a huge influence for me. I don't know. Maybe people aren't watching no budget films anymore? I'd love to hear your thoughts.

You can watch it free here: https://tubitv.com/movies/100051267/the-girl-in-the-woods

One last thing... our movie deals with some actual scientific theories placed in real world circumstances. One reviewer nailed the exact experiment the film was based on, but a few others have said they had no idea what happened at the end. Compared to Primer, I thought our concept was easy to understand, but did I go too far/not explain enough?
