Is this okay? Light Wispy Colonization

Hey everyone,

Wondering why this jar colonized so light and wispy and not thick and white. It's king trumpet. I think it's been somewhere between 10-14 days. Anyone have any potential explanations? I'm using whole oats. I used the same liquid culture on uncle bens bags and then grew really thick white mycelium. Any info would be helpful :)

Real question on DIY substrates/grain

Hey I bought a grow bag online- it’s been 6 days and I’m seeing some mycelium- actually, today, right about now at 2:10cst time is 7 days. I was gonna just grow and fruit in the bag-it’s my very first time, strain is golden teacher.

I think it was a spore syringe but I’m still confused if it was spore or culture. Anyway, my main question: can I use a block of coco coir alone? Do I need more than one and do I have to use vermiculite with it??

I didn’t want to spend more monies on a web site so just wondering if anyone has good advice on making my own soils-I’m gonna try an transfer to a mono tub when this bag is ready.

It’s all small as this is my first grow-2lbs bag

Oh yeah, and what about grains? Can I just buy rice or oats at the grocery store??

Edit: Thanks for all the info. It’s much appreciated!

Newbie- is this contam?

This is only my second time growing. Is this contaminated? If so, is it salvable or should I just throw it away? If it’s salvageable, what can I do? Thank you!

B+ mushrooms not growing ?

My B+ mushrooms haven’t grown at all for the past two days. They seem to have completely stalled at this size. I’ve already harvested the mature ones, but these smaller pins just aren’t developing.
Could this white growth be mold? Do you think my grow has become contaminated? What should I do?

Did veils tear?

The white membrane surrounding stem under the caps. Is that the veil that tore ? If so where are all the purple messy spores ? Or did I harvest before the veils tore ?

First Bluey Vuitton grow - Leaving for 2 days. Harvest now or wait? Some fruits look stalled and heavily bruised. [actives]

Hi everyone,

This is my first grow, and I’m looking for some advice from people who have experience with Bluey Vuitton.
I started with a Magic Bag, but the bag was accidentally damaged during fruiting, so with Magic Bag’s guidance I moved the colonized block into a shotgun fruiting chamber with damp perlite. Humidity has generally been around 90 to 95%, and I’ve been misting and providing fresh air exchange as recommended.

The cake has produced a huge number of fruits, but they’re all at different stages. Some have gotten quite large, while many smaller ones seem like they may have slowed or stopped growing. A lot of them have bruised blue very heavily, which I understand is common for this variety, but a few are darker and look a little rough.
The problem is that I’m leaving tomorrow morning (Friday) and won’t be back until Sunday.

I’m trying to decide between:
- Harvesting everything before I leave.
- Harvesting only the mature fruits and leaving the rest.
- Bringing the entire fruiting chamber with me (which I’d really rather not do).

A few questions:

Do you think some of these smaller, darker fruits have aborted, or do they still look like they have potential?

If you were leaving for about two days, what would you do?

Should I harvest the larger mushrooms now and leave the rest, or would that negatively affect the remaining fruits?

For Bluey Vuitton specifically, do these look like they’re developing normally?

I’ve included photos from last week and today for comparison in case it’s helpful to see which ones appear to have grown and which may have stalled. I'm starting to realize I should've harvested some of these awhile ago...

Thanks in advance. I’ve learned a ton from this community, and I’d really appreciate any advice before I make the wrong decision.

Aborti?
