iOS 26 DeGlassed (Via Nugget & Accessibility Method)

Apple should add a mode where basically, all Liquid Glass elements are replaced by Gaussian Blur (iOS 18's version of transparency)

This is a pretty good template for the idea. I really hope Apple does this as well, rather than just a Liquid Glass slider. We sort of already have this on the Lock Screen Clock.

I feel like if Apple just fixed the glitches and added this, so much less people would hound them for iOS 18.

The only thing that is better than this is probably:

  1. An actual way to go back to iOS 18

  2. A proper legacy mode, that returns all UI to iOS 18 style, which Apple actually could do, there's a toggle in XCode (the app that all developers including Apple use to develop apps) that forces an app to use legacy UI instead of Liquid Glass. Apple could implement this system-wide. And we literally could have a "iOS 18 Mode"

So many bugs - I hate iOS 26!

Bugs STILL not fixed.

When I need to move an email message to another folder, the list of folders is a blank screen. But when I tap on where the folder is supposed to be in this white space, the email moves. The text rendering is broken!

Light and Dark mode will not change automatically anymore. It gets stuck on dark mode.

The list goes on and on..

This is my first post.

I got noticed this when I hit the search and swiped left on the bottom of the screen. As if to switch apps but without completing the gesture.

Why would it pixelate?

Anyone else have this “flicker” with this transition?

It’s like 1-2 frames that it’s freaking out. (Also the homescreen is only for the demonstration)

Thankss

Get rid of “should I upgrade” posts.

Can we get rid of all the threads that ask if they should upgrade from ‘Y’ to ‘X’. There is no real purpose to them. They all get answered the same way, yes/no/maybe.

Still on iOS 18. Should I update to 26.5 or stay?

It’s my first iphone (16 model) pls help me understand:
I’m currently on iOS 18.7.2 and haven’t updated yet. I’ve been seeing mixed reviews about iOS 26.5, especially around performance and battery life.

I just want to understand, if I don’t update, will it cause any issues over time like lag, bugs, or app problems? Or is it perfectly fine to stay on iOS 18 for now?

Would appreciate your help.

Edit: updated to 18.7.8

Will iOS 27 be much more stable?

Do you think ios 27 will be much more stable than 26? As it was with ios 7 and subsequent versions. I recently took my 8 plus, and although ios 16 was the last one for it, it feels much more stable. My iPhone 13 at 26 ios works much worse, a lot of lags. Do you think the update will be better or worse?
