iOS 26.6 SAVED my iPhone 13 Pro with 82% battery after 26.5 ruined it

My story:

I was running iOS 26 on my iPhone 13 Pro 256GB (82% battery health) — and it was perfect: smooth UI, solid battery life, zero overheating. Thought "newer = better" and jumped to iOS 26.5.

First 2 weeks of pain:

· Phone overheated on basic tasks (YouTube, social media, even just scrolling).
· Lost LTE connection a couple of times — network just died and wouldn't come back.
· The buttery-smooth experience was gone. Micro-stutters everywhere, phone felt sluggish and strained.

I told myself: "Maybe I'll get used to it." Nope. Didn't happen. It was the end of my comfortable iPhone experience.

---

How I saved it:

Took a risk and updated to iOS 26.6. First couple of days — same heat issues. That was Spotlight indexing and background services. I held on.

Results after 2-3 days:

· 🔥 Overheating gone — phone stays cool even under load.
· 🔋 Battery life almost back to iOS 26.0 levels (the good old days).
· 📶 LTE rock solid — no drops since.
· ⚡ UI smoothness 100% restored — no stutters, no lag.

---

My verdict:

iOS 26.6 resurrected my iPhone 13 Pro. If you're suffering on 26.5 — don't wait, update. If you're still on 26.0 — I'm not sure if you should even bother, but 26.6 is definitely not worse than what you have.

No idea what iOS 27 will bring, but for now — I saved my comfort.

---

Question for y'all:

Anyone else on 13 Pro with 80-85% battery health? How's 26.6 treating you? Or maybe someone's already on the 27 beta — worth jumping or wait it out?

---

P.S. This one's for everyone who fears every update because their phone is "not that young anymore."

iOS 26.3.1 (a) Battery Health - iPhone 16 Plus

No charging rule, just not draining it to 0%. Normal use and gaming.

Is this health normal or anything good?

Replaced battery is worse than original one ?

I replaced my IP-13 battery on 17th December, 2025 but it is dropping way quicker than the orginal one, even though I got it replaced from a genuine Apple authorised service centre i.e Unicorn in Gurgaon but I dont know whats happening with it.. i follow all the battery ethics; 20-80 rule etc.

I m attaching both the screenshots the one with the new battery health drop and one with the original one.

Can someone tell me the reason or their views?

There is a bug in iOS versions 26–26.6 that has not been fixed yet! Notice that the highlight on the edge of the app icon is flickering. Am I the only one experiencing this problem?

Is anyone else’s 17 getting weirdly hot? IOS 26.6

My phone keeps getting super warm to the touch (36–37°C internally), especially from 50–70 on a 20 w(h)att 🧱 or using apps like Zoom and Domino’s. It doesn’t happen every single time, but occasionally it gets to that "can't even hold it" level of hot. Mind you, the “your phone is warm” warning never showed up it just genuinely feels super warm to the touch also discharges much faster during that period.

Anyone else experiencing this weird inconsistency on this update?

New iOS

Do you think that there is going to be much added, I'm still going to update, but just asking.

Were there always iOS T's and C's for updates?

Thanks

IOS 27 Developer beta 5 / 6 !

IOS 27 beta 5/6 are very optimized
Better ram management
Better optimized performance
CPU schedule better

- but

Unoptimized animations
Unoptimized delay “animations”
Open and close apps still shuttering “ Apple developer need to working on this “

The system apps still unoptimized

But overall good job apple 🍎

My iPhone is 13 base model 📱
