He was presented with the Spotlight Award at the Breakthrough T1D (formerly JDRF) Greater Los Angeles Chapter at their annual Cures on the Horizon Gala on October 10, 2026, at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles. JC presented him the award, and there's a short video clip on Instagram in the stories for the LA Chapter of Breakthrough T1D.
Didn't want to make this about wealthy celebs complaining about money but the truth is there has never been an honest reckoning with the corporate exploitation that gutted NSYNC AFTER Lou Pearlman.
A lot of people assume that after NSYNC sued Lou and signed with Jive all the members were finally set for life but Lance says here the members made very little directly from the group before they went indefinitely on "hiatus".
At a time when boy bands faced a lot of stigma and were thought as uncool, shedding the boyband label required a significant financial and marketing push, a sort of "boyband tax" that only a major label could afford to cover.
Jive chose to pay that tax for only one member of NSYNC handing him the budget and corporate machinery to rebrand into an adult R&B/pop artist on the back of the platform that had been built by the whole group. The ladder was pulled up on the rest. The four were left to absorb the full boyband stigma on their own and scrambled to rebuild their careers from scratch.
To make matters worse Lance also commented under the clip that the album meant to follow Celebrity would have been the very first time the group stopped paying Lou.
