Any Tips When Playing Retro Scenarios?

I tend to try and be extremely realistic when playing scenarios, especially when they’re based around the time I was watching wrestling as a child (mid-late 2010s). Sometimes I end up just booking whatever happened in real life, and anything I alter just feels wrong to me. But then I hear about other’s scenarios and they say that Alex Shelley is one of the biggest stars of WWE in 2006 and I’m like “I want to have something outlandish like that” knowing damn well if I put Alex Shelley in 2006, I’ll just book him as a jobber IF AT ALL! Meanwhile I’m basically retelling the real story of The Fiend at the same time it happened. At this point, my realism is just conscious.

Any tips, thoughts, or even mantras that can help me feel better when booking scenarios?

Guys i need some help. Im struggling to find a starting point. What I'd like is to find a historical scenario with some choices for promotions that are 3 or less prestige and small roster so I can really get used to booking and work my way up.

35 years in Dawn Of NWA Scenario, thinking retiring the save

Reached 35 years on my current save, unfortunately reached the point where it has saved issues. Guessing the save data has got too big. Had just semi started a WWF V NWA storyline that was to including people choosing their side and eventually unification matches, (I formed WWF in 1963 took over NWA as a second brand in 1976)

Any recommendations on which scenario to play if I do stop this save, I've previously played dawn of wrestlemania (from 84-2012) and Dawn Of Monday Night Wars

Really wanted this to get to modern day, may still carry it on just saving locally will be more annoying if lose progress.

Ugandan Soft Ground Wrestling (SGW) Scenario ready for play.

Hi all,

I've completed the custom scenario for Uganda's Soft Ground Wrestling (previous post here) and it's ready for play. Sharing is on, details below for those who are interested:

The scenario includes 12 mens singles SGW wrestlers, 11 womens singles SGW wrestlers, and 6 SGW tag teams, with another 25 SGW wrestlers in Training.

There are also 9 wrestlers from Uganda's other promotion, competitor Kombat Street Wrestling (KSW), and 17 original Uganda-themed wrestlers making up the Indies.

The following Part-Time Wrestlers become available in Training through gameplay:
Lord White available at 1 month
Tenge Tenge available at 3 months
Jallah Trophy available at 6 months
Joe Weller available at 1 year
Check Shimatani available at 1 year 6 months
Tate Mayfairs available at 2 years
Mansoor and Mase Madden (Maximum Male Models) available at 2 years 6 months
SPECIAL GUEST STAR available at 4 years

There are also twelve custom SGW Events, and 6 original gimmick matches, plus 7 SGW-themed segments:
SGW Wrestlers' Oath
Anti-Colonialist Rant
Colonialist Rant
Gone Too Far
Desecrating The Grave
Return From The Grave
Who Pissed On My Grave?

All segments are marked (SGW), which should make them easy to find.

Let me know if you have any suggestions or run into any problems, thanks!

More info on JOW

Hey all, recently discovered JOW. I used to play TEW and always got frustrated with it. Ive been told that JOW is much easier and less demanding to play.

I have a few questions, can someone maybe tell me what makes this game easier? What are some of the main differences between this and TEW? What are some of the best scenarios to try? My passion has always been 80s and 90s wrestling but I have problems sticking with 1 save. I want to always try different scenarios all the time. So if there is anybody that can guide me that would be great.

Speaking of guides is there any sort of strategy guide to this game? Thank you.

Where Do Future Stars Go After Buyout?

As the title says, what happens to future wrestlers after a buyout. Do they just become more future wrestlers for my company, or go to the indies? And does something different happen if the company just folds?

Opinions for King of the Ring

I'm a few years into a game as WCW. I bought out the WWF a couple years ago and now I'm at my second King of the Ring pay per view (May '95). I was going to go with Owen Hart as the winner, followed by him chasing or trading the Intercontinental belt with Razor Ramon, with the blowoff being around Halloween Havoc or Fall Brawl. But just now I thought about Raven. Currently Raven is three months into a reign as US Heavyweight champ and about to blowoff a feud with Tracy Smothers in a no ropes barbed wire death match. He's been the leader of his Nest for a while, and I was thinking that sometime in the winter or spring, I'd put the world title on him. Eventually, possibly at Starrcade '96, he'll drop the belt to Cactus Jack in one of those stories where the underling rises up to stop taking abuse from the faction leader.

Part of me thinks Owen's the right choice because he's got no feuds going on and I can use the momentum from the win to fuel the feud with Razor, but the other part of me just really likes the idea of Raven as King of the Ring, and I just don't want to crown him after or during a world title run. Owen won't be getting a world title until at least in-game 1997. Just curious what anyone else thinks.

In case anyone is wondering, I am doing WCW and the WWF as two brands with two separate world titles, but no separate pay per views, at least for now. Current champions are Rick Rude, who will be dropping the WCW World title to Curt Hennig in the King of the Ring main event, and Bam Bam Bigelow, who will probably drop the WWF belt to Bret Hart sometime during the summer.

Red Dead Redemptions 20+ Year Career (Dawn Of The NWA Scenario)

(Due to NWA being brought out by WWF in 1976 and the original NWA Tag Team championships being retired in the game some history is unable to be looked up)

By far my favourite created tag team in all my saves on JOW. Created due to a lack of tag teams especially babyface tag teams, Red Bastien and Red Mckim two babyfaces with no direction formrd Red Dead Redemption in 1959.

Giving them a "bad ass babyface cowboy" gimmick the two became the longest running team of the save, 20+ years together as a team winning their first Tag Team titles in the NWA in May 1959.

They held the NWA Tag Team titles twice before I left the NWA to form Elite Pro Wrestling Japan in 61.

Forming the WWF in 63 they were one of the first teams I signed.

Red Dead won their first WWF Tag Team titles in July 1964.

The first Wrestlemania was 1966 and the teams second WWF Tag Team Title reign was ended by Antonio Inoki and Giant Baba, after the match the two teams showed a huge amount of respect towards each other.

Although two years later at Wrestlemania 3 was the first time Red Dead won the WWF Tag Team Titles at Wrestlemania, winning them from Mad Dog Vachon and Butcher Vachon in a violent bunk house match, the two teams meeting in various gimmick matches over the years.

Summerslam 1970 Red Dead lost to Gorilla Monsoon and Killer Kowalski in a barbed wire steel cage first blood match, the first in WWF as their year long feud finally came to a end.

The team would always feature in big 4 V 4 or 5 V 5 tag team matches, and were always two of the top babyfaces on the roster.

Red Bastien won the Royal Rumble in 71 and went on to win the WWF World Heavyweight championship from Nick Bockweinkel, that same Wrestlemania Red Mckim won the US championship from Stan Stasiak. Although Mckims US title reign was cut short due to a long injury.

Mckim returned from that injury to win The Royal Rumble the next year, Wrestlemania 7 was Red Dead V Red Dead as Red Bastien successfully defended his title, the two shook hands and hugged after the bell.

Red Bastien held the WWF World Heavyweight championship for 13 months his reign was ended by André the Giant in May 1971.

The two would always team up with Bruno, Dory Funk JR, Dusty Rhodes and others in big main event tag team matches as well as occasionally wrestling solo at times, they won the WWF Six Man Tag Team Titles twice, once with Dusty Rhodes and once with Dory Funk JR.

Wrestlemania 12 1977 it had been SIX long years since the team had held tag team gold and they won them here in a bull rope match against The Wild Samoans in a match that is still one of the highest rated in WWF history winning "Craziest match of the year" at the in game awards.

This title reign is at it stands the longest in WWF history at 19 months long with 15 title defences.

The teams final rivalry was with André The Giant and Big John Studd of the Heenan Family who ended this reign winning the titles from Red Dead at Survivor Series 1977.

The two teams met in various gimmick matches, Red Dead always losing through distraction or cheating, Red Dead would always come out on top in 3 V 3, 4 V 4 or 5 V 5 matches.

With it being announced that at Wrestlemania 14 in 1979 that the WWF World Tag Team championships and WWF United States Tag Team Championships would be unified Red Deads only chance at revenge on André and Studd was to win the US Tag Titles to get into the unification match.

They defeated the holders the North and South connection (Adrian Adonis and Dick Murdoch) at Royal Rumble 1979, and finally defeated André and Studd at Wrestlemania 14 that same year.

Red Mckim shocked the world the next day announcing his retirement from Wrestling, the WWF US Tag Titles were retired and WWF Tag Team Championships declared Vacant.

Red Bastien at 48 continued to wrestle, was given a new look, long gray beard, long black coat and black hat, a old gunslinger/outlaw looking for one more shot at glory before he rides into the sunset.

He won The Royal Rumble 1980 and then at Wrestlemania 15 he won the WWF World Heavyweight championship for a second time in the main event winning the title from Ric Flair.

After retaining the title against Stan Hansen at Summerslam 80 Red shook his hand and endorsed him as the new big bad outlaw cowboy of the WWF.

Red held lost WWF World Heavyweight championship till Survivor Series 1980 when he lost it back to Ric Flair.

He was unsuccessful in a attempt to win the Royal Rumble in January of 1981, and faced a uncertain future.

The march event was renamed Red Dead Redemption in 1981, a tag team tournament set to name number one contenders for the tag team championships at Wrestlemania in honour of Red Dead Redemption, Red Bastien was the special guest referee for the final, after the match it was expected he would announce his retirement when Bruno Sammartino approached the ring.

He said before Red rides off into the sunset he wants to face him, for the first time one on one at Wrestlemania, Red accepted the match.

Wrestlemania 16 1981 Red Bastien defeated Bruno Sammartino, the two shook hands and hugged as Red Bastien announced his retirement, leaving his cowboy hat in the ring.

Title Reigns NWA World Tag Team Champions X2 WWF Tag Team Champions X7 WWF United States Tag Team Champions

WWF Six Man Tag Team Champions X2 (X1 with Dusty Rhodes X1 With Dory Funk JR)

Individual Titles Red Bastien WWF World Heavyweight X2

Red Mckim WWF United States X1

Progress on the Ugandan Soft Ground Wrestling Scenario

Hey all,

I mentioned previously that I'm building my first scenario, focusing on Uganda's own mud-and-dirt promotion, SGW. Here's where I'm currently at:

Roster
SGW doesn't list its roster anywhere that I can find (not even on its public-facing website), so I've been putting this list together from the matches available on Youtube. Wrestler's alignments and event statuses are, frankly, best guesses. If you have any better insight into anyone's alignment or status, please feel free to chime in.

There will be no default Main Event wrestlers, so that players can elevate their favorites to Top Dog status. Here's the roster as I have it so far:

Mens Upper Mid:
(Faces) Alexin Anoa, Coolman, Hamis Diamond
(Heels) Buffalo, Eddy Monster, Venom, Lord White (limited appearances)
(Neutral) One-Man Army, Jallah Trophy (limited appearances)

Mens Lower Mid:
(Faces) Atcent Riddle, Jordan Loverine, JB, Kapeeka, Sanjuki the Bull
(Heels) Andrew Porno, Martin Porno, Hoodlomb, Martin K
(Neutral) Bullet

Mens Jabronis:
(Face) Rasta Defense
(Heel) Musolini

Mens Tag Upper Mid:
(Face) Micro Stooges (Handsome & Rey Morgan)
(Heel) Crazy Dominions (Naguti & Eazy Huzaifa)

Mens Tag Lower Mid:
(Face) Mesh & Nemesis
(Heel) Built Better Business (Brian Jo & Mulefu)

Mens Tag Jabronis:
(Face) Sparkling Slayers (Eco Matrix & Deo)
(Heel) Dark Forces (Rango & Akram Big)

Womens Upper Mid:
(Faces) Nabwire Hope, Lipanda Yoyo
(Heels) Amesu, Zampi
(Neutral) Asio

Womens Lower Mid:
(Faces) Amedodonya, Maureen K
(Heels) Suma, Momo

Womens Jabronis:
(Face) Maradona
(Heel) Impinidi

Managers:
(Face) Tenge Tenge (limited appearances)
(Heel) Slim Pally

Special Matches:
Ambulance, Handcuff, Boat, Gauntlet, In-Ring (SGW uses a regulation ring on special events only)

Recommended Special Segments (custom):
SGW Pledge of Honor (SGW wrestlers gather and recite their pledge)
Mob Justice (e.g. Part 1 of the Lord White arc)
Desecrated Grave (e.g. Part 2 of the Lord White arc)
Resurrection (e.g. Part 3 of the Lord White arc)
Good Friday Procession (SGW wrestlers participate in the Easter Pageant)
Colonialist Rant (Heel promo)
Anti-Colonialist Rant (Face promo)
Tradition vs Assimilation (Feud promo)
Light Foe on Fire (Heel segment)
Supernatural Event

Monthly Events:
(Jan) Mudrumble, (Feb) Splash Showdown, (Mar) Hot Temper, (Apr) Mudmania, (May) Carnage, (Jun) King of the Mud, (Jul) Blackmass, (Aug) Redemption, (Sep) Sperm Wars, (Oct) Dust Off, (Nov) Massacre, (Dec) Awakening

...and that's everything so far! Including graphics, I'm about 1/3rd of the way through building this scenario.

How you can help:
Have I missed any major or relevant SGW wrestlers? Have I forgotten any special matches or segments? Are the tag team memberships accurate? Should the events be moved around? Can you believe they have an event called "Sperm Wars"? Who are your favorite or least favorite SGW performers? Or anything else that comes to mind!

Thanks in advance, I hope to have this ready for playtesting very soon
Cheers
-Jon
