Hello,

I just got my hands on a KAC URX6 and a notched upper from Rooftop. I don't imagine I'll find a KAC barrel so I was just gonna build a temu SR15 and use a standard barrel(probably a Criterion or Geissele...haven't decided yet), I'm just wondering...will this work? Do I need some sort of proprietary barrel?

I'm really hoping this will work with a standard milspec barrel but this is my first rodeo with KAC parts and I know KAC uses a lot of proprietary parts. The upper looks like it would fit a standard milspec barrel extension so I was hoping someone here would know.

I know there's a lot of confusion around the KS-1 and clones and looking for some clarification before I spend my fun budget on the "wrong" thing, really just want to do a correct clone, the biggest thing I'm confused on is the optic.

The L403A1 or "Project Hunter" supposedly used the EBR-22L which is the ano AMG 1-10 with the BDC MOA reticle for 70gr TSX.

Royal Armouries, months after their original video came out announced in their comments that the Royal Marines actually acquired their KS-1s outside of the Project Hunter / L403A1 and according to many sources, including NS Armory, Royal Marines supposedly are using the EBR-9 MRAD reticle, which is the black scope that is factory cerakoted FDE.

NS Armory put together these "clone" packages of the L403A1 / Project Hunter, but those come with the EBR-9 reticle / cerakote optic.

Supposedly, SAS is using the actual Project Hunter Rifles with the ano EBR-22L optics and the Royal Marines are using the KS1 that is NOT the Project Hunter / L403A1 designation, but ordered similarly with the the EBR-9 version of the AMG 1-10 (black, factory FDE cerakote).

So am I correct in that a true Project Hunter (L403A1) has the ano EBR-22L optic and the NS Armory clone packages are just completely incorrect on the optics for a Project Hunter (L403A1) and are more of a clone of the KS-1s that were ordered outside of the Hunter program? Which also makes more sense to me because Vortex allowed Daniel Defense to sell the Elanor packages a while back which included what they claimed to be the "contract" EBR-22L Project Hunter optic and DD submitted for that contract.

I was using them as a reference guide to build my own since they seem to be all spoken before but after some digging and looking at a few different sources, I think I'm correct? But would love some clarification. I know I'll have a heck of a time trying to track down a EBR-22L if that's the true clone correct way for a Project Hunter / L403A1, but I'm in no rush, just want to do it right and don't care to clone the ones ordered outside of the Project.

I have an MCQ-2 coming in and was wondering if it mattered if I used the 3 prong or the brake. The open brake xc isn’t out yet, but I was planning on buying it once it does if it’s preferred over the 3 prong.

I’m also worried my 11.5 with a 10.75 handguard won’t clear the collar.
