Amazon Kids+

What is Amazon Kids+? I pay for it monthly, and have always wondered what exactly it is. Got an email that it's going up to $8.99/mth and figured now was the time to ask.

We have the Amazon Fire HD 10 Kids Pro tablet. My child uses it to watch YouTube and play some games (Roblox, Bloon Monkeys, Merge Dragons).

Do I need Amazon Kids+?

'Install modern browser' and other app issues.

I have two Kindle Fire 10 (7th generation)

Please pardon me if this is a common post but I have been experiencing issues watching Hulu and HBOMax on my devices. Both apps require that I install a modern browswer but I can't even install GooglePlay on my devices to access Chrome. Does anyone have any guidance for me? I'm not the most tech savvy but I can follow simple instructions. Thanks in advance for any wisdom.

Got a used kindle fire, trying to factory reset it, can't cause of reboot loop.

Pretty straightforward title, not so straightforward explaination.

I got a used kindle fire from a tech shop (that's lowkey a little disorganized) and when i was testing it at the store, it would charge fine, but it was locked by the previous owner and was not factory reset before hand. After many attempts, the following is a recounting of attempts to reset it from the lock screen:

  1. Charges to full battery, or after 30% battery.

  2. I input an incorrect password until I'm given the option to factory reset.

  3. The device powers off.

  4. Once powered back on, the device is (while still plugged in) now at 0% battery (???) And doesn't seem to have factory reset at all.

Cycle repeats ad nauseaum.

The shop let me take it to use for parts (since they dont really fix tablets, only video game consoles, allegedly), and I took it home to either repair it, or use it to repair my own (fully functioning, albeit cracked) Kindle Fire of the same model.

However, none of the articles i read seem to lead directly to the problem I'm needing to fix. Could it be the battery? Or is it a short on the board? I'm still trying to fix the Kindle 2nd Gen I have, cause I seem to have bricked it...

This Kindle Fire is a godsend though, cause now I don't have to go get that Nook I was eyeing at Barnes and Noble. >.>

The device model number is SV98LN if that helps. Thanks!

Edited after posting to avoid miscommunication:

TLDR: Got a used kindle fire. Previous owner did not factory reset it or remove the password, so that factory resetting it from the settings menu is impossible. When attempting to charge and reset the device, the device powers on with zero battery, and is not factory reset. The question is what is the issue? Also should I just use it for parts?

Update: Just gonna use the second kindle fire for parts, I think. If neither tablet ends up working, I'll set aside money for the Nook. Thanks!

Extremely old mobile game I can't find anywhere.

I remember so much about the game, but have no memory of the name of it.
It had an ancient ruins/aquatic theming to it, it was like those rotating ball mazes, but you need to group three of the same colored balls together to clear them.

For the love of god if you remember the name or know where i can find it, PLEASE tell me, this game has been on my mind for Years.

Also yes I sketched this in MSPaint, it's hard to explain what i mean otherwise.

Quick root for the Amazon Fire Max 11 2023

A new quick root has been released for the Amazon Fire Max 11. It runs directly on the tablet to give temporary root access, which can be used to disable app packages and regain control over your device.

Root itself goes away on reboot, but anything you disable stays disabled. With this it's possible to use custom launchers, disable bloatware and block OTA updates (the exploit disables OTAs for you automatically).

This works on the Fire Max 11 on any Fire OS 8 build, from 8.3.1.9 up to 8.3.3.8: https://xdaforums.com/t/temp-root-fire-max-11-2023-sunstone.4798590/

Rooting a device you own isn't illegal and has nothing to do with piracy, before anyone reports this.

Kindle Kids+ is it better to get a fire for videos or the kindle

My grandson is 9 and is smart and an athlete. Lots of car time! He has a tablet and does not do much reading for pleasure. They use a tablet program for reading at school and books. The tablet program goes too slow for him. There are some books he likes.

I’m thinking of getting him a kindle for kids but know little about the kids+ program. It sounds like it is more than books and only works on Amazon products. A kindle wouldn’t be able to utilize the videos, etc. He already has a tablet so the kindle fire would be doubling up.

His parents have that tablet locked down! They give him limited screen time and would view reading differently so if he was reading on a kindle, they could give him a cutoff time at night but not limit it as much as his tablet. He’s got a large vocabulary and I think would love reading once he has easy access to books he likes.

What are the pros and cons of kids+ and is a kindle worth it with that subscription? I obviously will discuss with the parents and would like to understand the program better before I do so.

Kids tablet question

I just recently gave my girlfriends son my old tablet. Set it up in kids mode. But there’s a grownups tab and he can click that and switch to the adult profile. Is there a way to lock that up?
