Hey, I had a doubt about kindles.

There are some kindles in the market, getting sold with some blemishes on the screen. Do they spread or stay like that forever?

Does that affect longevity of the device?

What do you recommend, buying a kindle with blemish at 1500 or buying a fresh one at 3000. (in terms of reliability.)

Experienced answers are more appreciated.

So i bought a 2nd hand kindle a while ago and my colleague kept telling me to buy a cover for it so that it looks like a notebook (genz advice).

So, how does it look ?

So, this is a paperwhite but there are a couple of issues that had occured after I had dropped it once a couple of years ago:

1. The backlight isn't working. I don't know if it's repairable or not. So it basically works like a basic

2. There's a line on the screen - you can see it on dark mode. It's barely visible normally but yeah that's how it is. It's been there forever, but it's the only one.

It works, battery still lasts for months. I have a cover too. I've been using it everyday and it does the job.

I bought a new one now so don't need this anymore.

As the title says, I am sharing some details on how I got my XTEINK X4 here in India, how much it cost me, and other details.
Two days ago, I made a post asking for suggestions on what to read and how to get started. I got some wonderful recommendations from some amazing people, so first of all, a huge thank you to everyone! I also want to apologize if I missed any of your questions earlier about how I acquired the device and its cost. I am a super lazy guy, which is why I couldn't reply to everyone individually and decided to make this post instead.

Q&A Breakdown

Q1. Where did you get it from?
Ans. I bought it from AliExpress.

Q2. How did you order from AliExpress? (Since AliExpress doesn't ship directly to India right now)
Ans. I ordered it through the AliExpress Thailand website. Luckily, my friend’s brother lives in Thailand and was traveling back to India, so he brought it over for me.

Q3. How much did it cost?
Ans. I ordered a bunch of products at the same time without tracking the individual prices too closely, so I can’t give you an exact figure. However, it was somewhere around ₹5,000 to ₹5,500 INR.

Q4. Did you have to pay any extra charges apart from the product price?
Ans. No, I didn't pay anything extra.

Hi all!

I’ve been using a kindle for about 10 years now, exclusively since about the last 3 years, when my physical book collection got infested with termites 😭.

Currently I’m using a kindle pw 11th gen. Some reasons I’m considering to replace it are-

1. It’s quite strenuous on my wrist to keep holding it, as it’s quite flat, and lacks any grip.
2. The constant touching of the screen to turn the page is……. Let’s say I’m not a big fan of that. Also, if you’re lying down while reading, it gets quite awkward turning pages. There’s no screen rotation.
3. The recent anti Amazon sentiment.

When all of this is considered collectively, I feel a “grippy” e-reader with buttons may help me a lot. But there are a few things idk about the kobo- is getting books on it difficult? Are books available there, not as aggressively as amazon, but like comparably? Are those books more expensive?
And then there’s the obvious question- colour or bw lol. Is the sharpness of text really bad in the colour one?
