Mighty Joe Young Stop Motion Puppet Showcase

Gotta share this look at the Mighty Joe Young puppet that's up for auction by Propstore!

It's so cool to see that Joe survived all these years, and how he's in great shape, relatively speaking! The details on the skin, fur, eyes, and everything is fantastic.

Hopefully this wonderful piece of history goes to a loving home who will take care of him.

A Lost Kong Figure

This Kong figure, based on his appearance in "Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire", could be considered lost media.

The company that was set to release it, Diamond Distribution, has unfortunately gone out of business. So sadly, this guy won't see the light of day.

Pour one out for little Kong 🫡

comparison of titans

-The Palaeoloxodon namadicus was the largest land mammal that ever existed.

Its total height was 5.2 meters, and it weighed approximately 22 tons.

-On the other hand, when King Kong appeared in his eponymous film in 1933, when he was initially on Skull Island, he measured 5.5 meters tall, and when he was in New York, he measured 7.3 meters tall.

"Ape God" by Alberto Russo 🎨

Pretty interesting to use the "King Kong Lives" design in an otherwise extremely "King Kong" (1976) themed fan poster. Technically they're the same version of Kong, but they both look and act so differently, they might as well be two completely different interpretations of the character.

Still a fine piece of art, regardless!

Joe DeVito's King Kong/Other Media Archenemies Day 1: What "Other Media" Villain would be King Kong's Archenemy?(Rules in description)

(Just to be clear, you're nominating new enemies for Joe DeVito's King Kong to have in his rogues gallery. Good, evil, anti-hero, powerscaling, Doesn't matter! As long as you think they fit!)

Rules:

1: Top comment wins

2: 2 comments per person, and only 1 winner per user

3: One character per franchise (For example, if Arkham Batman wins, NO MORE DC characters.)

4: Try to be creative! Go for some "out there" picks!

5: No downvoting (Seriously. This is a game for fun with fellow Kong nerds. Let's just have a good time y'all!)

Kongtext: DeVito mainly focused on expanding the lore of Kong and Skull Island; Going over the origins/arrival of Kong's species, the pseudo-sentient dinosaurs known as "The Gaw", the Tagu and Atu tribes that came together to form the Tagatu civilization, and general events that took place on Skull Island in the distant past. This Kong himself met Vikings, WW1 German Soldiers, Doc Savage, Tarzan, and even the Planet of the Apes! Also yes, that terrible 2023 game was based off this Kong!

(Honestly don't know too much about this specific Kong so take everything I said with a grain of salt 😅)

(None)

Peak King Kong interpretation

Personally, this depiction of KING KONG has been one of my favorites, if not, my favorite artistic depiction of KING KONG

something about the amber lighting, the angry face and his snarling mouth, the piercing white of his eyes and teeth

2.) pulp look of 1933 3.) Skull Island, basically the Univ. Studios ad

Never was a fan of the 76 Kong poster version, 86 looked like a cartoon, 2005 was basically a Gorilla

Could King Kong make a cameo appearance in the new DC Comics "Lanterns" show?

Probably not, but it's always crazy when you remember that he was a Green Lantern in the MonsterVerse crossover with the Justice League.

Kong is a true hero 🦍

How could it have been a ghostly remake of "Son of Kong"?

Unlike King Kong, Son of Kong did not achieve the same success as its predecessor, so no elements were ever used or a production related to the 1933 film/sequel was ever produced.

When Jackson was asked about a King Kong sequel, he joked that they were preparing a sequel with a draft, but in the end, it was just a clever April Fool's joke.

The thing is, what would a Peter Jackson "Son of Kong" movie have been like? I mean, that would be pretty incredible.

Well, this could be the opportunity for the film to redeem itself and start attracting public attention, so that more films or series are produced (more or less, but you get the idea).
