Is IZNA considered nugu?

I've always wondered this, I know their album sales sell pretty averagely, bit damn I haven't heard any noise from them since debut unlike any other 5th gen groups

The boycott worked. The company is dead. Sit down.

I said “stream Loona” and immediately got hit with the classic “oh so you support an abusive and toxic company!!”

No. I support Loona. The twelve members. The discography they made under shitty conditions. The art. Not Blockberry Creative.

Let’s actually look at what happened instead of recycling 2022 talking points in 2026 like nothing has changed.

What the boycott was actually for

In late 2022, after Chuu was expelled with the “gapjil/abuse of power” claim (which was widely disputed and looked a lot more like retaliation after she pushed back on the contract), the rest of the members filed injunctions. Dispatch reported the contracts were structured so members were stuck in perpetual debt: 70/30 profit split in the company’s favor, 50/50 expense split, so the more they worked, the deeper the hole. Members publicly said they weren’t getting paid properly. Fans organized a boycott of paid products, streams on official platforms that benefited BBC, merch, etc. Goal was clear: pressure the company, support the members’ legal fight to get free, and stop funneling money to the people who put them in that position.

It worked. Pre-orders for the planned album tanked hard enough that BBC postponed it indefinitely. Streaming and sales numbers dropped significantly. By mid-2023, all 12 members had won their cases or otherwise gotten out. They left. They signed elsewhere (ARTMS under Modhaus, Loossemble under CTDENM at the time, Chuu and Yves solo). BBC is effectively dead/collapsed under the legal and financial fallout. The formal boycott was called off by the organized fan response groups in June 2023 once the members were free.

The need for the boycott is gone. The company that was the problem no longer controls the members or profits from their old work in the same way. Continuing to treat every stream of “Hi High,” “Butterfly,” “Paint The Town,” or whatever as moral endorsement of 2022 BBC is just purity theater at this point.

The current purity-test version is dishonest

Claiming “if you stream Loona you support abuse” collapses the distinction between:

  • the members who were the ones being mistreated and who fought to leave,
  • the music they created,
  • and the company that is no longer in the picture.

That’s not “protecting the girls.” That’s using the girls’ trauma as a blunt instrument to police other fans’ listening habits years after the legal fight was won. It’s also selective as hell, a lot of the same people have no problem with other groups whose companies have had their own scandals, as long as it’s not the one they decided to moralize about forever.

Supporting Loona now means supporting the members’ post-BBC work (ARTMS, Loossemble when active, Chuu, Yves, solos, etc.) and being able to listen to the catalog without pretending the catalog itself is contaminated. The members made that music. They performed it. Treating the songs like they’re radioactive because the old company was trash is not solidarity, it’s just another way of letting the company’s toxicity define the group forever.

I boycotted when it mattered. I didn’t buy albums or merch that would have gone to BBC. I supported the legal fight. Now that the members are free and the company is irrelevant, I’m going to stream the music I like. That is not “supporting abuse.” That is supporting the artists who survived the abuse and still have a discography worth listening to.

If your response to someone saying “stream Loona” is still “you support an abusive company,” you’re not fighting for the members anymore. You’re just addicted to the moral high ground from a fight that already ended.

LOONA is 12. The company is gone. Stream the music if you want. Support the members’ current activities. And stop acting like listening is a betrayal three years after they got free.

TUIDE VISUALS

THE IRONY IS CRAZY. all these years so many people have been bothered by how companies select their members based off of their visuals and never for their talent. Now since the announcement of tuides debut and the members face reveal, the same people who once talked about unfairness have started calling these girls ugly, and visual holes. MIND YOU, THEY ARE YOUNG TALENTED GIRLS WHO LOOK PRETTY ASL.

These people defame and degrade idols who have had plastic surgery done on them and preach that "natural beauty" is the way to go. But get sooooo worked up when an idol is ACTUALLY natural.

Ive heard so many people say that their songs aren't catchy or promising. You never even gave them a chance bsfr, you js hate how they look or you hate that there's a new group from hybe

Pick a side for the love of god.

No hate but i feel like people are overestimated pristin popularity

I feel like a lot of people have this thinking that Pristin are some sort of big successful group that got fucked over by Pledis because of the anger they feel towards Pledis for dungeoning them and then suddenly disbanding them out of nowhere which i understand.

However their numbers don't support this at all, Pristin's debut album sold 43K which is pretty good for a group from medium tier company like pledis at the time but their second ep dropped to 27K. The digitals performance of their lead singles also dropped correspondingly. And then they tried a subunit thing called Pristin V which consist of their most popular members but that sold even worse, only 18K physicals and basically nonexistent digital performance for "Get It". For reference other post ioi groups like weki Meki's first two albums sold 49K and 34K respectively and Gugudan's first two albums sold 22K and 29K. In other words, both group's 2nd albums sold better than Pristin and look where both groups are at now?? stuck in nuguland and eventually just disbanded at the end. Yes, Pristin did slightly better than both groups on the digitals side but nothing impresive about that. obviously this industry is completely unpredictable and anything can happen but then if one is depending on that to make the argument that Pristin is such a big name that got destroyed by their label one has no argument at all.

Don't get me wrong im not defending pledis here what they done to pristin was very shitty and they don't deserve that, but if we take emotions out of the way and just see things from business point of view I really don't see any argument based on objective facts that Pristin such a big and succesful group that got destroyed by their label.

Cortis' Juhoon and Tuide's Seah

Both of them were child models. The first time they worked in the same project was 2018 and the last was 2023. They have worked together several times through 2018-2023.

Congratulations to both of them!

(Tbf, there's several idols who were kid models that have worked with Juhoon, including Meovv's Ella, BDC's Yihyun, etc)

What are Old Kpop Songs that Would Be Received Differently If They Were Released Today?

It can be for any reason such as being ahead of its time. Albums can also be included. An explanation in the replies would be appreciated.

Why do music shows upload real bad quality performance videos?

I mean what's the point????

Are they promoting their artists? How? The good quality videos posted by some fanpages show us how good and perfect these idols are performing and highlights their visuals which is what I look for in performances. Because the agencies spend so much to make those idols look so good, their outfits, makeup etc and I love all of this and as a fan I'd want to be able to experience these on good quality performance videos.

If you watch these on your phone, you can't see what I'm talking about. I watch these performances on my laptop and that's where you can see the bad quality.

Is it that we gotta subscribe somewhere or something? I don't even understand.

Quick question.

I listen to some kpop songs but not all of them and I’m not too deep into it. You know if something comes by my fyp or feed I’ll take a quick look. I’m on vacation with my uncles family and he has a 10yr old and a 7 yr old and the 7 year old knows the entire dance to hootie fruits? And my 10 year old cousin says baby monster and katseye are really popular which I didn’t know but I guess now I know. I looked deeper and I listened to some other katseye songs and the ones in the beginning were pretty good imo!
So my question is what age group is Katseye for?

My girl, MIJOO, is flopping and I'M MAD

Tell me why my ult bias is starting to flop as a soloist and entertainer.

Solo (music) activities: Her first and last album release to date was out in May 2023, she had one ost around the same time. Then duet activites where released three songs under Juju Secret-2 in Mar 2023 and 1 in Dec 2023. She did have her lovelyz reunion concert 2024 and then they came back for a christmas special in 2025. She also moved to AOMG in 2025 Nov, but where is her solo? No announcement, no teasers, no hints whatsoever that they're working on something for MIJOO. Listen I get it. Keyveatz had just debuted but their promotion has ended and still no concrete news on MIJOO.

She has done a couple variety shows as part of a panel host and guested, but frankly haven't watched any of those as I cant find them in english sub or the premise doesnt interest me. Right now she has the most activity on her youtube channel, but I need to something a bit more than her transitioning to a youtuber and go back to idol/soloist MIJOO.

I want my girl to succeed. Shes the reason why I got into Lovelyz, her poses on the way to work was why she stood out and started to get gigs. So it's a shame this is her status right now

Make your ideal kpop group

What is the name of the group?

What concepts will it be?

How many members?

Where are they from?

What gender are they?

And any other relevant information you’d like to add

Tell me your favorite K-pop group without telling me their name

I’ll go first: seven men, purple hearts, and somehow my playlist is 80% their discography 😭

Your turn.

kpop fans nowadays have a weird sense of humor??

i’m mostly a 3rd gen and some 2nd gen kpop fan. i was away from kpop for a while and came back recently to catch up on nct and one thing i’ve noticed is this weird thing fans will do when commenting on posts where it’s like they’re “jokingly” bullying the idol?? i don’t remember people being like that at the height of my kpop days from like 2014-2018. idk maybe it’s mostly teenagers doing it so maybe it’s just a gen z thing?? but anyway it just makes me a mildly uncomfortable and i don’t like it.

for example: telling an idol to delete their post, “[insert idol’s age] years old btw”, “anything for a check” and they’re not even doing anything that crazy, stuff like that?

i know that it’s not malicious or whatever but i just think it’s weird. we used to just send our love and support, now it’s this acting like we’re so close with them we can just roast them whenever we want. lowkey parasocial? is this clicking with anyone else or is it just me 💀

Hootie frutti #1 on Brazil Apple Music!

I’m so happy for them, this is the exact market they wanted to conquer. I have no doubt that they will be planning to come back to Brazil next year.
