Identification help
I spotted this guy while cleaning my orchid and am curious about the species. Looks like it might be an Olla v-nigrum but I wanted to know what others think. Found in south west Florida.
Is this one of those zombie ladybirds from a parasitic wasp?
I read there’s a wasp that lays an egg in ladybirds and it hatches out of their stomach and cocoons itself underneath. The ladybird then dies and efectively stands guard unable to move other than its front legs.
Is this one of those? The ladybird is only moving at the front and not flying away.
And if it is one of those do I just let nature do its thing or do something more drastic to protect other ladybirds?
Friend lady bugs or foe ladybugs?
Found these guys today and have never seen black and yellow ones. Are these aggressive invasive ones or chill native ones?
