Lewis’ Race Set Up

Lewis seemed down after the sprint race. I think he overreacted to Merc’s pace and tried to do something with the set up to compete with them straight up. I think Leclerc would still have had the pace on him in the race but he was right there with him after the pit stop adjustment. From his behaviour he looked like he had missed an opportunity after the race.

Lewis Hamilton criticises Ferrari after costly Silverstone strategy blunder

Still a great result, but I think he could've won the race had the safety car situation had been sorted out sooner

B1.9.7 If a driver has serious mechanical difficulties, they Any driver whose car has significant and obvious
damage to a structural component which results in it being in a condition presenting an immediate
risk of endangering the driver or others, or whose car has a significant failure or fault which means
it cannot reasonably return to the pit lane without unnecessarily impeding another competitor or
otherwise hindering the Competition must leave the track as soon as it is safe to do so.
At the sole discretion of the Race Director, should a car be deemed to have such significant and
obvious damage to a structural component, or such significant failure or fault, the Competitor may
be instructed that the car must leave the track as soon as it is safe to do so.

B1.9.8 A driver who abandons a Car must leave it in neutral or with the clutch disengaged, with the ERS
shut down and with the steering wheel in place

GET A GRIP. Seriously

I find this subreddit difficult to tolerate sometimes. The slightest thing that goes wrong on strategy for Lewis for example is met with a barrage of rage here. People acting like its an actual crime, labelling Ferrari a "disgrace", or a "joke".

The thought process behind pitting Lewis was perfectly rational, unfortunately it didn't pan out. Had the race restarted, Lewis would have gotten P2 on the road, whereas if he didnt stop then he would have probably been overtaken by Russell who had fresher tyres as a result of that extra stop he made due to the slow puncture. As we all saw the Safety car was left out and a system glitch prevented the restart. That is *not* the fault of Ferrari.

Lewis still got a podium and due to Kimi no-scoring, it means Lewis has closed the gap to just over 30 points in the championship and here we have people posting so much utter bullshit about how Ferrari fucked up and apparently cost him the win?! Honestly, it's embarassing to be part of the same fandom with a lot of you, the way you act. If anything you should be praising the team for developing a car that is moving closer and closer to Mercedes and is in a place that is genuinely in with a chance to win at most circuits now, albeit still a little behind Mercs.

Time to get a grip and realise not everything will go your way. Lewis has had more success than anyone else in the history of the sport and here we are bitching and whinging over basically nothing.

This is not Ferrari's fault, be mad at the FIA

Simple. There should have been laps left at the end of the race. If they didn't put Lewis on new tires, he would have fell like a stone potentially on a restart. Ferrari gave him a chance to even get Leclerc with their strategy. FIA screws Lewis yet again

We are officially in the fight for the 8th.

This was a great result. We reduced our deficit to Antonneli. Charles got p1 so those points didn't go to Mercedes. We have a race winning capable car. We are almost p2 and almost a dnf away from p1 in the championship. We are only half way through the season. We still have the Kim Kardashian good luck charm on our side. Hamilton is doing what Schumacher did before.

FIA hate Hamilton.

Wouldn’t give us a race for final lap as Russell didn’t pit so would have been in trouble on those old mediums. I can’t express how much I dislike the FIA. Really ruining the sport.

On the positive note

The Bad

  1. Jump start penalty

  2. Antoneli first stint overtake

  3. SC infringement

  4. George SC overtake and miss P2

The Good

  1. P2 on first corner

  2. P3 finish(could have been worse)

  3. No action SC infringement

  4. Official Title contender

Let's take the win guys, considering the circumstances of today's race.

There is a reason Lewis is a 7 time wc

After Ferrari bottling the P2 for Lewis and with all the penalties, this man remains in the absolute level of composure, I know we saw and fuming in the cooldown room, but I think if there was any other driver than him, they would have turned mad and start crashing out.
Everyday you get to learn something from everywhere and I learned if you want to reach the highest places in Life, you gotta be an absolute composed person.
The same thing happened in AD21 and that race was the penultimate race for LH 8th title and look at how he dealt the outcome of that race as well, it’s amazing and I am proud to be a Lewis Glazer.
Rest assured this just makes him even more hungry
Love ya all❤️

Anyone blaming Ferrari doesn’t understand racing.

George was Behind, albeit on old mediums, but would’ve still been in a good position to overtake hamilton on the old hards. Ferrari pitted Lewis to cover that off and unfortunately the FiA are idiots.

Charles deserves this P1 and Lewis deserved a P2 at home but you don’t often get what you deserve in F1. It’s simply an unfortunate series of events.
