Life hack: Leave online purchases in your cart for a few days before buying. Your wallet will thank you.

Many online stores use automated abandoned-cart email reminders.

Step 1: Make sure you login to the store before putting the item in your cart so they have your email.

Step 2: add items to cart then close the browser window.

Step 3 wait for the emails:

Day 1: “You left something behind”

Day 2: “Still thinking about it? Act now before it's gone!"

Day 3: “Here’s x$/% off discount code to use on your purchase.”

Not guaranteed, but if the item isn’t time-sensitive or likely to sell out, waiting w-3 of days can sometimes save you money for doing absolutely nothing.

I have a LOT of experience doing this and I find it more often than not. The last three were:

$20 discount and free shipping for a $50 purchase (so paid $30 in total) at ladcollective

$150 off a $650 pair of XR glasses +lip balm from Amazon

$320 off a bunch of kitchen items from Amazon *(I'm thinking maybe the number of items from different stores all acculturated) *

How do you actually get rid of mice for good? Nothing I've tried is working

Been trying to figure out how to get rid of mice for about three months now and nothing is working. Tried snap traps and peppermint oil, still hearing them every night. We're in an older house in Ohio so I know there's probably gaps somewhere but I don't know where to start.

Intentionally Buying a Cheap Phone to Use for Higher Trade In Credit.

Salesman for a big cell phone carrier showed me this because I wanted to keep my S24 to give to someone, while still using my upgrade to get a new phone for free or near free.

Simply pull the list of phones you carrier will give you credit for. In my instance it was the Samsung S20 FE. My carrier will give me $900 credit for this phone(T Mobile). I can buy this phone refurbished for $130 ar Walmart. So I did.

I completed the trade. Spent $130 for an S26. I kept my S24 which will be going out of country to someone in need.

shirt stretching

i have to wear this shirt for work and it technically fits, but when i lift my arms, the shirt lifts with me and doesn’t settle back down. can i use hair conditioner and warm water to manually stretch it out when it’s 65% polyester or will it just revert?

Put a small piece of paper with today's date in each of your shoes, or on your clothes hanger. If, after a year the paper is still there, it's probably safe to give away.

This has helped me solve the "what if I need to wear this somewhere" question that makes me prone to hanging onto things.

Getting gasoline smell out of my car

About a month ago I was at the gas station and I realized I overfilled my gas can and a bit leaked into my trunks carpet.

I have aired out my car for hours, washed the area down with hot water and dawn dish soap and used baking soda and let it sit. It temporarily makes it better, but it seems to come back especially with the AC sometimes.

Does anyone have any advice for this? Google told me to let the car air for 24 hours and leave the baking soda that long but I can’t leave my car that long. On top of it, I have to close my garage at night so I can’t let it completely air out.

Thanks!

Cat proofed my plants

Used some acrylic drawer sets from Target ❤️ they’re on sale rn this was the full depth 2 drawer one the drawers also double as stackable containers so turned them upside down & stacked for my smaller plants, the outer shell I turned vertically and hung over my larger plants. The “bottom” of the outer shell is almost completely open but I just faced the opening to the window & cats can’t get inside it ❤️

Also ik my plants look like 💩 rn every single new leaf was getting chomped off 😂 they’ll recover.

How I keep my wrapping paper from coming loose

Hello everyone,

I used to put a piece of tape around wrapping paper after using it, but it always left a mark or damaged the paper when I removed it.

Now I just use binder clips on the ends of the roll. They hold the paper in place without damaging it, and I can easily remove them when I need to use the paper again.

Such a simple thing, but it makes storing wrapping paper much easier.

what about you..

What to do with lightly used cosmetics?

I’ve a bunch of hair oils/sprays and skin moisturizers that have been opened but used like once or twice. Any tips for what I can do with these other than just throwing them away?

What is your lifehack for getting a solid nights sleep?

Blackout curtains, AC, melatonin?

Something that has helped me recently is sleeping on the bare floor. No idea why but it's really helped my quality of sleep but I still only get about 5 hours.

I'm going on about 12 months with only 3-6 hours of sleep per night.
