A lil wayne lyric i think about from time to time

“You can look into the future, it’s right behind your eyelids, but I don’t wanna know, ’cause shit, I like surprises.”

The older i get the more i realize this line literally means death.

Behind your eyelids is darkness. Sleep. The unknown. Eventually death. That’s the future for everybody whether you’re rich, broke, successful, lost, anxious or confident. Different lives, same ending.

And weirdly that thought clears brain fog for me sometimes.

Like why am i sitting here overthinking every possible future when the future itself is uncertainty? Why waste the present mentally living 10 years ahead?

At some point you realize nobody actually knows what’s coming. We’re all improvising until we die.

Not even in a depressing way either. It’s almost calming.

Makes me wanna do what i gotta do and stop obsessing over controlling everything.

Prime Autotune Wayne Era & Similar Projects

Steady Mobbin came on shuffle yesterday forgot how good that song was and got me thinking are there any full length projects where Wayne leaned into that auto tune style or futuristic style production.

I know he has some looseys across his discography where he leans into this style a bit (some songs on carter 3 and maybe IANAHB) but if anyone has a specific album, mixtape or even just the general years / time period where this was the dominant Wayne style id love to hear it.

For reference Steady Mobbin and Demolition freestyle are the type of songs im thinking of when i say "Autotune / Futuristic Production"

Thanks everyone!

Best songs for a Summer Weezy playlist?

Just wanna make a playlist for hanging outside and drinking some beer or driving in my car at night with the windows down.

Best Lil Wayne songs for a hot, late night summer hangout or drive?

Thanks!

Drake dropped so many music videos for Iceman and we didn’t get a single one for C6.

I know a lot of people didn’t like C6, but I legit can’t believe that a Carter album got zero promotion, zero push, zero music videos. Drake just dropped so many music videos and we didn’t even get ONE for a Carter album. I love Wayne but holy shit this is so frustrating. Welcome to Tha Carter, Hip-Hop, and Cotton Candy could have a low budget music video and it would have been better than nothing.

Going to see Wayne for the first time and Chainz for the 2nd time.

Yall going to see Wayne on tour this year? I just know that whole thing about him being a terrible performer is complete horseshit.

Another Drake album another non Wayne feature ?

He got a lot of trash artist on there and still don’t get a Wayne feature shits sketchy af it’s been 5 years it’s like they so distant now. And no drake on C6 either seems like Nicki stays loyal something seems off.

Lil Wayne is the GOAT

Lil Wayne is only the rapper who doesn’t entertain disses , doesn’t name drop often , or address drama or allegations in his albums . Bro just gets in the booth & makes music true goat shit
