This feels a lil' blasphemous lol since Wayne my GOAT but with how much of his catalogue I've listened to there was always going to be ones that were not gonna be a hit lol. The worst Wayne track I've heard is Kat Food. Fuck that song lol.

I recently saw posts regarding Lil Wayne’s sleep habits where people were deeply skeptical of him claiming he doesn’t sleep. And I think there is also some general skepticism that he can’t remember what he has written.

Apologies in advance but I won’t be submitting anything resembling proof or dox fuel for what i write here so take it as you wish, but..

I worked as an engineer for Wayne off and on for a couple years and I confirm that he almost literally does not sleep. He doesn’t come in to the studio before 10pm and sometimes he will begin at 3 or 4am. His sessions can last days at a time which is just one of the many brutal aspects of working with him. His bodyguards sleep, the homies he brings in to the studio sleep, his collaborators sleep, but he does not and he smokes weed nearly the entire time. I don’t know if this is a contributing factor but he takes a number of medications for epilepsy and I know that a few of these can contribute to insomnia.

He is also unbelievably productive. He writes nothing down and moves from track to track with a quickness. In these sessions he will lay seeds for multiple albums worth of tracks on top of working on existing tracks. One of the minor pains in the ass with him is when he wants to switch back to something we worked on earlier and it doesn’t have a name and he doesn’t remember specific lyrics, just general content and vibe so the purely clerical work of keeping organized is just another struggle. I haven’t seen much of the business side of his work but I don’t believe he contributes or cares too much about what is chosen to be released on albums. He operates on a stream of consciousness basis not just lyrically but as like a lifestyle or something.

If there is ever a polymarket bet on the years he’s got left, it can’t be more than 10. He doesn’t sleep and his diet is fucking horrific. He eats mostly candy and chips and even when he does bring his personal chef into the studio he goes for grits and bacon. I haven’t seen a fruit or vegetable in the same room as him, ever.

We’ll see what happens to this post, idk the rules of this subreddit, but thought I’d chime in.

EDIT: Yes obviously he sleeps! But from what I have experienced, far less than most people. And by far less I mean I have been with him for 30+ hours and had other engineers take over who reported that he continued for another day. He also records at his house and has his preferred engineer for that work and he has similar reports.

Any shot SFTW2 ever gets added to Apple Music? I know they added the first one and a few other mixtapes but this was my favorite by far back in the day. Been a while since I listened and would love to have it on streaming. Assuming it’s not since so many of the songs were remixes of other songs?
