why did someone just buy a damaged 909 for $650?…..

I am just so disappointed in seeing prices like this for REPLICAS. This replica should be like 10 bucks or 20 bucks MAX. Cmon sellers on eBay, do better!

so I saw this #272 in a listing earlier on eBay with a bunch of other relatively damaged pets that i considered a somewhat decent price even when damaged (seeing how 272 is starting to go for an arm & a leg these days).

so then imagine my surprise when I refreshed initially and saw that the seller had separated the pet from the damaged lot and was selling it for less than 30$! someone had obviously asked for it to be separated and the listing was sold, and I was actually surprised at the seller’s decency and really happy for whoever had gotten this pet.

now I’m having another look at the new listings… and then I see the same listing but being listed for 339$…. obviously lots of people might’ve asked about the collie as well, and i can’t say for sure what happened but something tells me the deal fell through. Now it’s being listed for >10x the price for a pet not even in mint condition…

honestly seeing stuff like this makes me not want to collect anymore… i acknowledge the older pets are indeed now reaching the state of collectibles now as they’re no longer in production but its still so disappointing

First three pics are the listing I purchased for $5 and the next two pics shows a second listing with the same photos listed at $50.

I personally find this type of behavior highly unethical and I do my best to avoid and not purchase from any sellers that exhibit this scummy behavior.

This is not the first and I fear it will not be the last time I have purchased cancelled by the seller for them to re-list at much higher prices.

It is exhausting and disappointing, this has happened to me so many times I just assume if I get a good deal it will be cancelled until the package arrives.

hi all, just need a little vent because nobody else in my life understands. WHY are g7 pets £40?? even £20 for a SINGULAR g7 pet is absolutely mind boggling. i’ve had a look through this lps resellers ebay and some of their pets are normal pricing, but some of them are ridiculous. why is a g7 deer the same price as a g2 main five?🤦‍♀️and then saying “its really very easy to find out why I have priced it the way I have.” OMG 🫠. please can we stop being this desperate for lps that we allow this?</3

This community is beyond exhausting. We all want affordable pets, but what’s the point of buying one mildly below its market price to immediately resell it and gauge for higher offers?

Well that’s exactly what lpstrippei/Mallory B. did. A 909 sold on 4/23/26 for $315 and lpstrippei listed hers on 5/1/2026. To my dismay, I realized it was the same 909 my friends and I had missed out on a few days prior. Even though this is a collector can we please stop supporting these business practices? For how many peoples that have 909 as a dream pet, this just isn’t right. The timeline indicates she listed it for sale almost immediately after she got it

Please review the photos that show that the one lpstrippei is trying to sell and accept offers of $600 for is the exact same 909 that sold for $314 just last month. In slide 4, you see that her 909 for sale has the exact same lifted foot defect as the ebay one. The paint defects all align exactly— too similar to be a coincidence. The last two photos show that a post she made on April 30 indicates she already owned a different 909, so the one she’s selling isn’t from a personal collection.

We already have to compete with each other for good deals, why contribute to lps inflation. We need to start calling it out this behavior as we see it, even though this person isn’t a big reseller, or we will never have any hope of going back to reasonable pricing. By the way, this isn’t a personal attack on this individual.

Was super excited to get #2194 as I barely ever see her selling anywhere online for less than $80! Not even two minutes after the transaction though my order is immediately refunded and she’s relisted for $20 more then I payed for :(( seller even said in the description that buyers can’t cancel purchases, but apparently they can cancel ours😭😭

I genuinely get so sad by how common this is, I get if maybe it was a mistake In the listing but I feel like at that point I would just take the L and sell it

I’ve seen a post about this person already but I felt I’d ask for more photos to double check it’s really fake and it most definitely is! They used a very stupid excuse of them getting the LPS growing up but we all know there were fakes of shorthairs out over a decade ago. This just seems really silly. Why would they act so rude…

Purchased lot of 22 pets, including 3 European exclusives, for $500 (after tax and fees closer to 600), and the next day they post about it being available which they later deleted after being called out. They had a sales post linking to both the eBay and vinted listing. After I purchased from eBay they removed just the eBay link, leaving the vinted listing up. No advertising it sold in any way. They were unable to provide more pictures than what they had on the sale post and the eBay and vinted listings. I sent a DM asking availability because this felt very scammy. Sure enough they say they have them except nope they suddenly don't have the 3 expensive pets they were selling. On eBay they wanted to ship my order anyways for the commons for the $500 if I didn't cancel. I wrote a review about them selling them behind my back after I already purchased them and at that point they refunded me. Doesn't matter if their story was true that their sister took and lost them. You are selling something and someone purchased it at the time YOU lost them or are unable to follow through with the sale. Irresponsible selling that's for sure. Was this actually a scam attempt? Is this something I should worry about in the future??

I was window shopping and saw this listing, the seller seemed familiar and I remembered they posted on that unmoderated group not too long ago about finding LPS in an antique mall. Lo and behold I’m pretty sure they bought that exact 1162 just to resell LMAO I hope nobody is desperate enough to buy it since they wasted $250 bucks on a plastic toy😭🙏

I saw this on vinted, they had multiple fake lps being sold at auth prices (or even higher lol). I messaged them giving them the benefit of the doubt and they blocked me 😭

Guys is this person sus? They upload this listing like 3 days ago and took it down and now it's back again. They have no sales and reviews the text says that they're not leaving that's rubbing me the wrong way the last one said that they're not lowering the price. I don't think that they're asking for too much judging from other listings of this pet.
