HELP FOR SUPER DENSE POODLE COATS??
I'm quite used to fluff drying and combing poodles, but yesterday I really struggled with this poodle coat and I think I need some advice.
I had fluff dried and line brushed but still couldn't get my comb properly through. Their fur is so dense and thick.
I used an anti frizz spray as well as a de tangler, but maybe it wasn't enough?? She was thoroughly washed too, and I made SURE she was.
What is everyone step by step when doing VERY DENSE poodles ???
WHAT IS UP WITH GROOMERS LEAVING DOGS UNATTENDED ON TABLES???
So often my ex boss would just walk out with a dog on the table without even saying anything to me and it made me so annoyed.
I have my earmuffs on and have a dryer on full blast. What if your dog slipped and I had no idea because you couldn't take 3 seconds to let me know you had to go to the loo? How difficult is it to just put them in a crate and then take em out when you get back?????
She also has a horrible habit of having 2-3 small dogs on one table.
There were 3 VERY senile dogs with ZERO spacial awareness she would do together on one table, and expected me to do the same. The owner is a nervous wreck and constantly worried about her dogs falling off the table, so I told her I will only do her dogs one at a time for safety. My boss followed suit, but took credit for my idea. Whatever
AUSSIE GROOMERS, what brand blades do you use, and where do you buy them??
Especially wide blades and combs!
I've seen a lot of good talk about buttercuts, but I cannot seem to find them ANYWHERE. HELP
Any groomers that have gotten lasik? How long did it take to go back to work?
I'm heavily contemplating getting Lasik or some sort of alternative as I'm getting tired of having to wear glasses 24/7.
My concern is that I will have to take a while off work due to all of the particles and fluff that come with dog grooming.
I'm not really asking for medical advice, just wondering what the experience was like for groomers that have gone through the procedure and what to expect.
I can't even have normal food anymore
Boring hypoallergenic food because my parents hate me and want me to starve.
They keep taking me to the vet who pokes me and takes 'samples' of my scabs??? Yeah, wtf.. I have to wear this stupid cone. I just want to itch myself to the point of bleeding, and throwing up my food, but they won't let me and keep rubbing creams on me and shoving shit in my mouth. And to top it all off they won't even give me my morsels in gravy anymore. Now I just eat soggy biscuit soup. Fuck my life
Ways to be more water efficient?
At the moment we are using hose attachments filled with shampoo and conditioner (which come diluted) to wash our dogs. My boss is worried about how much water we're using.
We recently tried using products in squeezy bottles but we ended up using more product than what we would with the hose attachments. The product we use comes diluted, but you need a lot of water just to get it to lather which I think is why we ended up using so much with the squeezy bottles. We even filled the squeezy bottles with extra water but it didn't make much of a difference. Maybe we're not using the squeezy bottles correctly. We drizzled the shampoo and stuff on like they're a hot dog so perhaps thats a dumb way of doing it?
Our process is:
1: Wet dogs first
2: Apply clarifying with hose attachment, and then a bit extra from the pump for good measure
3: Rinse
4: Second shampoo from hose attachment
5: Rinse
6: Conditioner from hose attachment
7: Rinse
Friend with BPD emotionally cheating but won't admit it
My friend was recently sent into care after attempting suicide and met a guy there who she became attached to. They've only known each other for 2 weeks, but message each other non stop, flirt, are physical with each other, and are close in a way that is bordering romantic. She even screenshot a shirtless photo of him. She won't admit shes attracted to him though
I understand she needs more supportive people in her life, and this guy has been incredibly helpful, but she knows he is romantically interested in her (he tried kissing her and has admitted that he'd let her make a move on him), and she is MARRIED. She said she set up boundaries, but every time she talks to me about him it seems like they're constantly teetering on the line of emotional cheating.
Her relationship with her husband is rocky, but they're looking at getting counselling together. The husband says he's fine with their relationship but is clearly uncomfortable with it. He's constantly asking about the friend, comparing himself to him, and making changes to be more like him.
I don't think he's aware of just how intimate they're being with each other and I don't know if I can sit back and not say anything. They're both dear to me and I care about them both.
I understand this new guy is her current favourite person, but I don't think it's an excuse to do what she's doing. What do I do???
I got my payslip today and the hours didn't seem right. I asked my boss about it and they said because it took me nearly 30 minutes to pick up THEIR son, they reduced my hours. I worked my ass off this week because I'm no longer going to be receiving pension, so the money I make from work is IMPORTANT. IS THIS RIGHT??????
We have a client who is ALWAYS late, usually by 10-15 minutes every time, sometimes 30 or no show at all. Yesterday they were 10 minutes late and I told them that they needed to be on time. Their dog is getting more aggressive and stressed out as they get older. They also have a heart murmur and collapsed trachea, so it's incredibly important that we're able to take our time with them to minimise stress.
They got offended. When I went to go get their dog to hurry them to the bath, they stood back and clutched them to their chest like I was going to steal him. They said that if he's getting worse they won't get him done.
They went back and forth between me and my boss that by the time they were done carrying on, it was too late to get him started without having to rush at some point to make up for lost time.
She made an excuse that we've had to rebook her twice, so she's 'been pretty lenient'. First time I had a seizure on the floor which had never happened before, and the second time my boss was sent to ED due to health concerns.
Us having to move your dog for OUR health and safety isn't an excuse. And it's not like this is the first time she was late. She's ALWAYS late and every time she has to have some sort of excuse. I'm over it. She loves her dog and wants the best for him, but we can't give him the best if we're having to rush to get him done.
