Beautiful Thing

Hi! I am pretty new macramé. I used to make plant hangers many, many years ago. I saw this picture online and would love to be able to make some of these but I have no idea what kind of thread or whatever this is. Also, is there anybody on here the creator of this? I would love to buy a pattern for the sail…. thank you in advance.

I made little earth goddess dolls 💚😊

They’re made of hemp string, cotton fabric, tree/ spiral/ goddess charms, glass seed beads, and love 💗 which one is your favorite?

Maybe I’m getting a little crazy, but has anyone tried making a macramé plant pole for epiphytes?

Not my creation, but thought of doing this for some of my plants. I also considered making a moss pole and tying the moss with a basic net pattern using half hitches.

I made a little fairy ornament 😊💗

It’s made of hemp cord, metal beads, glass seed beads, and a purple acrylic evil eye bead, and has a loop at the top so it can be used as an ornament or keychain 😊 I ran out of the beads that I used for the calf, so it’s a little wabi sabi 😅

Necklace and bracelet

Square knots with geode, carnelian, and moonstone. I had leftover cord so I made a bracelet with it.

Help please 🙏🏼

This is my first time doing macrame. I’m just looking at a finished product and winging it. Can anyone tell me what I did for the first diamond? When I’m starting the rounding of the next one it doesn’t work like the first one. And I don’t know what I did the first time because I was just going on vibes 😅 if I do the 4 square knots, the double hitch doesn’t look like the first diamond. But if I do the double hitch knot first that doesn’t work either.

Help with leaves, please

I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. Should I be doing an extra knot at the ends? Should I be shaping with pins? I'm at a loss and would appreciate any help.

Small tutorials rant

I need to get this out right now because I have too much going on in my mind already.

  1. Yes, macrame is a knotting technique. But that doesn’t mean every knotting technique is macrame! Macrame was created by carpenters in Africa. But I just saw a tutorial on YouTube titled "Celtic knot macrame bracelet“. Of course! Because Celtics are African!

  2. Why do they always have so much yarn left?! Macrame was invented TO USE UP THE LEFTOVERS! You’re not supposed to have much left over after using up the leftovers! Yet in many videos, there are several strands of 15 cm yarn left! Of course it’s easier to knot with longer threads! But that’s against what macrame is!

How to tie a hexagon?

Hey all. I’m trying to tie just a basic hexagonal net for a project I’m working on, but I can’t find anything online for how to tie it. Something like this, where you can clearly see the thing that it’s holding, if anyone has a tutorial for that! I am completely new to macrame
