Great Horned Owls
Saw 2 and heard a 3rd off Monona by the Dean House! Could not get a photo. I've heard them here before but my first time actually seeing them.

Does one already exist in madison? Would anyone be interested in one if not?
This morning we sadly witnessed a mama mallard get trapped on Stoughton road and she and most her of babies were hit. We stopped and were able to save five. We’re on our way to DCHS after consulting on the phone with them. If you have an extra fiver, toss it their way in memory of that poor mama and her babies.
I've been missing our beloved crane family (the goose-adopting legends) recently, but Sunday blessed me with these fluffy little CUTIES. Please zoom in and ENJOY.
Just joined, thought id contribute. Heres a photo of a lone crane at Tiedmans pond off of Gammon/Park. Taken a couple weeks ago. They seem to be digging for worms or other critters! I had not seen a crane so aggressively peck at the ground before this guy, lol. Happy birding, friends!
I saw it flying over the Monona Metro Market and then land on this light pole in Ahuska Park
Sorry it's just a cell phone pic

Hello bird enthusiasts of Madison, WI! With the recent migratory season bringing great pictures to /r/madisonwi from Sandhill Cranes to Red Winged Blackbirds, this comment from /u/Cessnateur inspired me to go ahead and make this subreddit.
This subreddit is for pictures, videos, art, and discussion of birds around Madison. I've added a couple flairs to get us started, but if there's anything missing, please let me know.
Since this is also our first post in the subreddit, please use the comments below or Mod Mail if you have any questions or recommendations for the future of the sub.
Thanks, and happy birding!

Yes, it's me, the pigeon nut. Every bird has someone who loves their species, and I'm one that sees pigeons as more than pests or nuisances.
I've been enjoying my time hanging out where they congregate, watching and enjoying. (I've seen some incredible games of aerial chase!) If you find any hotspots where they roost besides the generating station and Woodman's east), I'd love to hear about them - where and time of day. :)
I'm actually looking to volunteer with Great Lakes Pigeon Rescue out of Chicago. If you find a lost or injured bird, I'm happy to help find the owner or get it settled at a rescue to recover. I also have infographics on what to do when you find a banded bird.
I won't ramble on any more, but I hope to run into some of you while I'm out and make some friends. (And if you like pigeons, too, let's be friends! Doesn't matter if it's racing, showing, or farming.)
When I'm not going on about these guys, I also love watching birds of prey. I'm slowly adding new wing shapes to my brain, but the variety of hawks that look similar to redtails is throwing me a curveball.
Happy birding!
(Pictured are terrible pictures of pigeons on a street light near Woodman's, and the curious face that poked up when I coo'd.)
