Today Trek and a local brewery put on a ride for cancer research. I’m over the sun and I’m over climbing.
I dedicated this ride to my grandma who passed away from cancer after beating it multiple times before.
Saw this big beautiful pair in McKee Farms Park today. They did not care that I was just on the opposite side of the path from them.

I got back into cycling in spring. Today I completed the hardest bike ride I’ve ever done.
I also smashed 2 goals while doing it.
What a beautiful morning to get in my longest ride of the season.
I have a 35 miles charity next Sunday and I’m realizing that it’s gonna be tough.
From not riding for a decade, to dying after 5 miles this spring, to the longest ride of the season.
Man it felt good to get out and just pedal. I had a solid 14.2mph average pace. I wanted to keep going but didn’t want to injure myself.
Took her in for her first oil change today. Right at 3,000 miles. Got a clean health report.
Also found out today that I am still the only ‘26 galaxy purple thru my local dealer. I picked up in May.
These 2 beauts walked right past my front door right when I got home from work.
Yesterday I won a trophy for Best in Show Showroom Stock Example. 😂
I then bid in the silent auction and won the bronze Sparcos for $1,000. They are mounted, balanced, ceramic coated, and wrapped in new Goodyear Assurance winters.
The event was all for charity too.

Set myself a goal in spring to ride from my home town to this town south of me. Today checked it off and got myself a nice meal at the end!
Now to keep riding and growing my endurance.
In my 20’s I used to ride all the time. I’m now about to turn 41 and have started cycling again after a decade of not doing it. This is my longest ride of the season so far. I ride a 20 y/o trek hybrid.
I promised myself this year that if I make it thru the whole season I’ll get myself something new in spring.
Also this 15 mile ride is my first time ever with padded bike shorts. Holy crap what a game changer!
