Dmann tune

I just purchased a dmann ots tune off of jdmuscle, does anyone know the turnaround time until I’ll receive the tune in my email? Like I said, it is just an ots tune for an ETs CAI, so shouldn’t take too long one would think.

Anyone think they can ID this thing?

I pulled this from the carcass of an 04 Sti.. best guess is it's a Chineseium TD05/06.. I've got it up against a TD04 for reference.

Bonus intercooler pic because I spent 20.00 on the wrx, and found the STi in the same shell as the turbo.. (both were free)

Clutch slip/loss of boost

Hey guys! I drive a 6-speed 2019 WRX Premium. I just bought the car a few months ago and immediately had to have the clutch replaced at 48k miles (previous owner must've ran the car hard). After the clutch replacement, the clutch was still slipping every now and again but I chalked it up to it's break in period. Hasn't done it in a while and then yesterday on my way to work, the clutch slipped really bad on the highway. I was thinking master slave cylinder or clutch wasn't done correctly. Not 100% sure. Regardless, after it slipped I realized I lost all boost and the car is lagging. No oil leaking. Any thoughts? Not even sure the two correlate. Just seems too coincidental.

Farewell friend 😞

This was the car that tought me everything and was posted many a time in this subreddit to get it to where it is today. One of my best friends was able to drive away with her, but still kind of heartbreaking to see her go 😞

Low washer fluid stays on even if full

I filled up the washer fluid to the top but after 2 days the car is still telling me that the level is low. Used to work perfectly fine before. Do any of you guys already experienced this issue ?

Silicone Radiator Hoses

I guess everyone else already knew but I wish I knew about this sooner because it's been driving me crazy ever since I rebuilt my engine. Silicone hoses indeed are extremely permeable and you lose a lot of coolant to evaporation through them.

Every time I stopped my car after it was hot it would reek of coolant for hours, and I would find the level in the reservoir dropping significantly even after the engine cooled and the car sat for a couple weeks in the garage. Couldn't find any leaks and it was driving me crazy.

I had put silicone hoses when I upgraded my radiator because the rubber ones were old, and the silicone ones were a lot easier to get on the ports. Now I put new OEM hoses on (with new OEM spring clamps) even though it was a giant pain in the ass to get them to stretch on my CSF radiator. Car doesn't reek like coolant all the time and the reservoir level is steady now, sweet!

I was using Grimmspeed silicone hoses, but I suspect the brand doesn't matter and this happens with all silicone hoses.

What could be the issue?

Hey there i just had a new engine dropped in my 16 sti i was out running some logs for the tuner and noticed when i shifted to neutral from 4th instead of it saying its in neutral it says its in 6th did it once or twice. This is a brand new clutch i cant really test if its slipping or not because the tuner said no WOT pulls yet but it felt fine. I scanned it with a cheap scanner i had at home and all that came up was maf codes because im running full speed density and the maf sensor is unplugged but i do have a snapon scanner im going to take home from work today and see if thats any better. Ive read that it MIGHT be a neutral position sensor but it seems unlikely any thoughts?
(If you look at the end when i shifted from 4-3 i didn’t let off the clutch and just pulled it out of gear straight to neutral then let off the clutch thats when it said i was in 6th)

aftermarket speaker upgrade or oem?

For context I drive a 2018 subaru wrx sti base no harmon kardon. The speaker in my driver and passenger side door card blew within the last month on the regular base equalizer. I just bought the idoing head unit and am considering upgrading the speakers rather than replacing oem. My knowledge on speakers is very little and I understand the benefits of a subwoofer but I’d prefer to just replace speakers unless it REALLY WORTH the extra money. I mainly listen to rock and rap, I guess you can consider it on the louder end but I don’t like the whole trunk shaking shit from a subwoofer or loud asf.

  1. What speakers do you guys recommend?
  2. Do I need to replace all of the speakers?
  3. I’m assuming the speakers won’t come plug and play so rate the install.
