I'm a poser...
(20 F) I'm a CVT cuck and I knew what i was getting into. I was mortified about "wasting my money" on a car that would be laughed at.
Three weeks in and I truly have no regret.
I think the car is gorgeous, I have so much fun driving it, I don't need to be getting into modding anyway...
I'm not a car enthusiast, I know absolutely nothing about cars aside from maintaining them, but i am certainly now an enthusiast of my car!
I freaking love it! I always have to look back at it when I leave. 😭
It genuinely has sparked a love for something that has to be a part of my every day life.
Do I wish I could drive manual? 100% !
I've basically told myself that I can learn in the future at a time where I don't have so much going on in my life. My lovely father who has kindly guided me while learning highly advised I didn't want manual claiming it's all he drove back in the day and that I do not want to row gears 24/7 to get to work.
I was really disappointed in myself but got the car anyways. Settled on the GT since I was going with the cvt. Figured it was best to just go with the nicest trim if I wasn't getting manual anyways.
Too many excuses?
That being said... Is it too corny to like customize cosmetics on this car? Trust me, i'm not putting a scratch sticker on my headlight! But i'd enjoy maybe some custom emblems, or a different exhaust that makes the tone deeper.

New STI owner. What to expect from a Stage 1 Cobb 91 Tune?
Just picked up an STI a couple weeks ago and I’m really enjoying the car. Runs perfectly fine, nothing wrong with it. It handles the corners really well, so I don't regret buying it at all, but the stock power delivery feels kind of inconsistent to me.
Sometimes it pulls hard, especially going uphill or coming out of a corner somewhere around 4000 rpm, but it feels kind of flat anywhere else. Gear 2 is consistently very fun, but it doesn't seem to carry into 3 a lot of the time, even when i shift very quickly.
Once in a while I’ll also get a nasty pull on flat ground when I'm in 3 or 4, and other times i don't feel much. Sometimes I have to really coax it to get a proper pull, even in S#.
I’m thinking about getting the Cobb 91 Stage 1 tune for more consistent power delivery, but maybe you guys have advice on how to get a good pull with factory settings.
For anyone running Stage 1, does the car respond more consistently when you get into the throttle?

Drove 12 hours each way to trade in my cvt crosstrek for this 2021 WRX premium with only 4500 miles for $29k otd. Safe to say I noticed a huge difference between the two. I cant express the joy this brings me oh my god it is so much fun to drive!

Went autocrossing
NER SCCA Autocross #7. Registered as Novice. One big mistake is attending the event with 7 years old General Tires AS05 that has 500 treadwear. Car never gripped and ate several cones ☹️
Somehow managed to secure third after realizing “slow is fast”.
I was thinking of getting the big verus wing, but the event really changed my mind. Seems like a new set of RE71s, new sway bar and a re-alignment will be far more useful to my car.
Also, people loved the livery. I’m glad that my car gets compliments from others.

2020 WRX DAM drops and weird fuel trims
Hey everyone,
I’m trying to figure out what’s going on with my car and why my DAM keeps dropping. I’m wondering if I might be dealing with ghost/false knock, but I’d like some opinions from people who know these cars better than I do.
Car currently has ~82k miles. I bought it at around 78.5k miles, and since then I’ve done quite a bit of maintenance/preventative work:
- Walnut blasted the intake valves and replaced all gaskets/seals that were disturbed during the process
- MAP axle-back exhaust
- Mishimoto PCV-side catch can
- Brand-new OEM air filter
- New MAF sensor
- Cleaned MAP sensor
- Smoke tested for vacuum/boost leaks and couldn’t find anything, although I may test it again
- Brand-new spark plugs
- Checked intercooler couplers and made sure they’re tight
- Changed all fluids when I bought the car
- Already done two oil changes
- Using Motul 8100 X-clean EFE with an OEM oil filter
Current tune: COBB Stage 1 91-octane OTS map.
I know the OTS tune is probably going to be one of the first things people point to. However, the Stage 1 map has actually behaved better for me than the stock tune did. I also haven’t noticed any oil consumption or other obvious mechanical issues.
The main problem I’m trying to diagnose is why DAM keeps dropping and whether the knock readings I’m seeing are actual knock or potentially false/ghost knock.
I’m attaching the datalogs I’ve been taking as well. If anyone can take a look and point out anything suspicious—AFR, fuel trims, boost, timing, FBK/FKL, DAM, etc.—I’d really appreciate it.
Also, if there are any additional parameters I should log or tests I should perform, let me know.
