I think? I have fine hair need help

My hair dries straight, does not hold a curl (tried everything) and no volume. I’m almost thinking of cutting it shorter and seeing if my hair is just heavy so it weighs it down. It also gets greasy after a half day of washing it. Any recommendations on haircut length? It is just at my lower back. Rarely use heat and do not dye hair. (Last time color has touched my hair was in 2020 when i stupidly went platinum. Thanks to the lock down in April. Killed my hair because i was an amateur trying to be a hair dresser)

When I try to curl my hair, I have tried heatless with socks, robes and kitsch tools. I’ve tried dirty and clean hair. I’ve tried styling mousse, hair spray, oils. I have also tried with a curling rod and by the time I’m done with one side it’s already uncurled. I’ve tried it with pinning it while it’s hot and it does not stay.

Last time I made a major chop 12 years ago above shoulders and did not like my hair flipping out due to resting on my shoulders. I will trim ends every couple months if I feel like I need to.

Finally joined the club 11 months early!

I set a 2026 New Year’s resolution goal to pay off my debt by July 2027 and I just finished today. This is such a relief. Growing up (18-27) I was taught that credit cards are good (which yes this is true if you use it responsibly) and to just only make the minimum payment. Well I got a better paying job back in May (30k more a year) and was able to swipe the rest of my debt. I planned out every paycheck very precisely and budgeted my way through. Now I can sit back and throw all of my money towards retirement and vacations. LOL. I learned to be cheap and only pay for what is necessary.

I do have my car payment left but I’m hoping to have that done by 2027.

Black tie wedding approval?

This might be the best i can get with black tie. Now i will need help with accessories and hairstyles. Hair is down to lower back but i think i want to accent this gold shoulder piece so up might be it. And shoes? Purse? Necklace or no necklace? Bracelets? Earrings? I don’t do styling or accessorizing. I need total help. Also looking tomorrow at JC Penny for dresses just in case this isn’t black tie enough…

Black tie wedding. $250k+ wedding

So I will be attending a wedding in Jersey in September. The wedding is already $250,000+ so I guess this will be fancy. Kudos to whoever had a wedding this expensive before. Which dress is more appropriate. It says Black Tie attire and nothing else for color dress code.
