Hey there, I moved here for a relationship and this was honestly a terrible place to move to as an English speaker since I can't find a job. I'm also short and some factory jobs can't accommodate me. So I have too much time and not much money. I study Dutch in most of my free time and with tutors but I'm only A2 with limited vocab, and play Minecraft a bit with some reddit randos on discord. I don't have family or anything. I'm just bored out of my ass everyday. I also can't drive yet which is kind of infuriating and contributing to my inability to find a job but having a car here is expensive and I'm not quite sure it would be less harmful to have a car without a job already set up.

Happy to just chat. Brownie points if you know of a place I should beg for work from lol. I'm a former nurse in America but that doesn't carry weight here, especially if I can't speak Dutch.

Hey! I’m 28 and a Dutch national but doing this in English as it may get more reach and my english is just as good.

I have moved a lot over the years unfortunately that means my friends are everywhere except here and two years in Delft now and havent made a single (fitting) connection. There are weeks when the only adult I speak with is my husband .
The problem when it comes to making friends for me though is that I have a kid (5) and another on the way. Its also that I moved every freaking year as a kid and that makes it hard for me to understand how to be social well on the longterm. i also get worried that someone doesn’t want to talk to me and struggle to send that first message, something I am working on and actively thinking about these days. The child(ren) in itself isnt an issue as I have tons of mom friends just none in my area. Its finding someone I connect with.

Hallo! Ik zag laatst een post die me aan het denken zette.

Iemand had het over alleen uitgaan, en ik zag dat er veel positieve reacties kwamen van mensen opzoek naar sociale contacten.

Ik kan mezelf daar in vinden vandaar deze post. Sinds een aantal jaar merk ik dat ik niet heel veel in Utrecht ben ivm werk en daardoor weinig nieuwe mensen ontmoet. Ik ben in de weekenden wel bijna altijd aanwezig maar door de druk van doordeweeks vind ik het lastig om me te commiteren aan een sportclub oid. Door het land heb ik genoeg vrienden maar veel uit mijn studententijd zijn weg uit de stad.

M31, hou van ftness, hardlopen, padellen, boksen, uitgaan, borrelen, films, reizen.

Misschien is het een idee om een soort meet-up avond te organiseren. Met gelijkgestemde mensen ergens in een kroeg borrelen, wie weet wie met wie een klik heeft.
