What’s with the AI slop in Malaysia?

AI fatigue is real. I can’t stand seeing businesses and people online using generative AI for literally every single thing. It’s literally so draining to come across these low-effort and meaningless AI slop.

One thing in particular that I can’t stand are the AI songs/song covers. Like the god damn digi digi song or whatever nonsense. I notice that it’s usually the old folks using those songs on TikTok or other platforms.

And don’t get me started with RTM’s excessive use of AI for like almost all of their campaigns or like their TV1 fillers.

Seriously, someone needs to educate the country on how to use AI mindfully.

How do you know if you are financially healthy or not?

What is financial health actually means? High income, high savings ( a lot of cash), low or no debt, owning own house? If yes, meaning majority people are financially sick?

Grand prize: A broken 75" TV from Samsung Malaysia

It was not easy to win among thousands of entries in a skill-based contest. Instead of a prize, I got a massive headache and a piece of junk.

A 75" TV requires a minimum of 2 to 3 people to handle safely. Their logistic partner Skynet assigned only one single courier to deliver this giant TV 36kg 189cm to my high-floor flat using a trolley.

The TV packaging itself clearly prints a "Team Lift" safety icon.

I reported the damage to Samsung within 48 hours of delivery, explicitly stating my readiness to provide any further information required for their courier claim.

Paid online buyers get 7 working days to return damaged items.

Samsung officially denied my replacement request after one month.

Samsung declared RM2 value for a RM4,999 TV on the consignment note with no shipping insurance.

More than a month after the incident, Skynet confirmed that Samsung had not even initiated claim with them.

Reported to KPDN, MCMC, NCCC, and TTPM. Absolutely zero help.

Samsung gets the free marketing and publicity from the contest. It feels like I am the one being penalized and punished. Do they care for the safety of the worker as well?

PLEASE HELP

UPDATE: i called and told them about my cardigan. they said theyll contact if found. luckily the line was quick to connect and the human was kind and efficient.

Just had an argument with my older brother and he said I'm not the brother he wants.

Sorry I just need a place to rant. If the mods feel this is inappropriate please remove the post.

My family has been in a really tough spot now financially and emotionally. My brother has a son and a daughter on the way in a few months.

The family business is sinking fast and we might declare for insolvency come the end of the year. I know my brother has a lot on his plate now (he's not been sleeping because he's one of the key personnel in the company also) and he's been having sleepless nights.

I've always known since I was young that he never liked me. Being the youngest in the family, I do feel way more protected than he ever was. He always did say he wished I were more. It's been an on/off thing for years now and I've grown to accept he really does hate my guts.

Today was unusually bad....because during our argument he starts trauma dumping me and saying he's suicidal and that I couldn't possibly understand how to take care of his family. He says that he's been disappointed in me for years now but never complains to our mother about it. I felt really upset about that and said “What did I do?" to which he responds "that's my point. You never do anything. You're not helping anything."

He then says the most hurtful thing I've heard: "As an older brother, I am disappointed in how you turned out. I wish other people were my brother instead."

I knew he hated my guts but this one really stung because from his voice it did feel like he meant it for real. And now I'm here in the other room crying my eyes out wondering what I can do to even fix this? Is there anything worth fixing here?....

Does male pattern baldness ruin your dating chances in Malaysia, even if you’re well-groomed?

Hey guys,

There's another topic on my mind that hits closer to home as I navigate dating in my late 30s.

We can't really change our natural skin shade, we're born with it. And most of us do what we can to keep our faces clean, skin healthy, and clothes neat so we feel good in a crowd.

But what happens when everything else is on point, except Top there at your Crown area... it's starting to look like an empty playground? 😅

For someone like me looking for serious, long-term relationships:

  1. How is a thinning crown honestly perceived in others' eyes here? Is it an immediate dealbreaker on apps or in person?
  2. For the guys dealing with it: How do you handle the hit to your self-esteem without constantly worrying about it when you walk into a room?
  3. For everyone else: Does hair density actually matter when you're looking for a genuine life partner, or is it just something we overthink in our own heads?

Does hair density really make or break attraction here, or are we just overthinking it?

What's the best dishsoap?

Hi,

I've been using Joy, glo, and sunlight. Joy and glo disappointed me because most of the time I need at least 3 times to rid off oil from the plates. Sunlight performance is getting ruined, they claimed their soap works equivalent to 100limes, I doubt the lime during R&D has different acidity compared to dish soap on the counter.

What's your best dish soap preferably liquid dish soap.

First 10KM route for KL Car Free Morning

Lots of things to iron out. Primarily the
- Disruption to residents at Binjai, hospital Prince Court, etc.
- One lane not enough room for runners and others, historically never enough room after 7:30am anyway.
- Jalan Tun Razak dangerous to have the car free lane and traffic next to each other.
- People getting off bus straight into cyclists who speed pass the bus at Jalan Ampang is just injuries waiting to happen.

This was the first and last time I'll go on the 10km route, at least until DBKL and the organizers figure out the work around to these things. Even the usual 7 or 5km traffic is so intense that its genuinely uncomfortable to cycle on.

Hearing people talk in another language in front of me is low-key rude.

Some new friends and I were hanging out and most of them were chinese. Even tho I'm in the group as a participant, they still talk Mand/Canto to one another, sometimes over me (I'm sitting in the middle) even though we were talking about same experience or topic.

I find it so rude. I know this is the state of our country and people don't really give a shit. But man, I feel so excluded when these things happen. I can't help but get high school flashbacks of when I used to be ostracised so badly.

I wanna call them out and tell him in a lighthearted manner like "Hey guys, non Chinese here, mind sharing what you're talking about?" but it's tiring. I feel like I don't fit in even if I try so hard. The C girls just stick together and talk in Mand/Canto, and I suddenly feel like I'm not welcomed there.

Fresh Computer Engineering grad here. If you were in my shoes, what small project or startup would you build for the Malaysian market?

Hi everyone,

I recently graduated with a degree in Computer Engineering, and while I’m navigating the fresh grad job hunt, I really want to channel my energy into building my own startup, or at least a solid side project.

I have a fairly broad technical background. I'm comfortable with full-stack web development. I’ve previously tried financial technology projects, but wanted to focus on something more locally.

  • If you had my skill set and were starting fresh in Malaysia today, what would you build?
  • What are some uniquely Malaysian problems (in fintech, logistics, agriculture, daily life, etc.) that you think are desperately waiting for a tech solution?
  • Should I focus purely on software, or is there an untapped market for hardware/robotics solutions here?

I'm open to any harsh truths, industry insights, or random ideas you might have. Thanks in advance!
