Rosalina needs more screen time Part 2

Alright, guys, I got something else in mind for Rosalina that should've been in the movie.

This is a good one.

She could've just stayed in the cage, instead of being overpowered by that machine, they could've just used the Grand Star to power up the Boomsday Weapon (just like in Sonic, Eggman uses the Chaos Emeralds or Master Emerald to Power Up the Eclipse Cannon).

And Peach fights Kamek to rescue Rosalina, let's just say after Kamek warns Bowser and Bowser Jr that Mario and his friends are in Space Junk Galaxy AKA Planet Bowser, he has been told to watch over Rosalina til Peach gets there, this is where Kamek gets a role, Kamek takes Rosalina's power which overpowers her, and all that power Kamek took gave him power.

When Peach finds Rosalina in a cage, Kamek appears all mighty and powerful, Peach demands that he released her sister at once but Kamek refused, the power is all his now, and in a few minutes, the Boomsday Weapon will fire, she gonna have to fight Kamek to free Rosalina and stop that machine.

Peach tries her best to fight Kamek, but Kamek knocks her down, but Peach didn't give up, she came all way to find her sister, and she's way too far to give in, she came right back up and continues to fight, she dodges every one of Kamek’s attacks, magic, minions, even Koopa shell. She uses thoses shells to her advantage, she throws and reflects them at Kamek few times (just like the games), then after one final hit, Kamek loses all the Power and returns to his normal self unconscious, then Kamek’s wand fell in front of unconscious Rosalina, broke and releases all of her power and energy, Rosalina gains her power and energy, and broke out of the cage, Peach and Rosalina ran and hugs each other shortly (they don't have time for the reunion yet),

Then they work together to stop the Boomsday Weapon, they tried their best to get the Grand Star out of there, but the glass is too strong, but Peach had an idea, she tells Rosalina to touch her hand, Rosalina knows what she's talking about, she reaches out her hand to Peach's hand, then they closed their eyes to focus, the magic releases, and their other hands touches the glass, as the magic grows, the glass begins to crack, the power destroys the glass, the Grand Star is out, and the power transformed Planet Bowser into a nature-filled garden, then they hugged again as a reunion.

Should a third movie have better pacing?

If this movie does less then a billion it could finally show Nintendo the pacing needs to be improved.

What character dynamics do you want to see in the third movie?

I saw some people talking about how Daisy could fall for Luigi at first sight and then try flirting with him, and I honestly think this is a good idea. Daisy is also a little clumsy in the games, so making her completely composed and confident and bold, only to be a little clumsy (but not overdo it) around Luigi would be really interesting. I would love to see Luigi step up and be the grounded and calm one. Daisy falling hard for Luigi immediately would be such an unexplored trope, and it would be so fun to see.

Another dynamic I want to see is Peach confronting Rosalina a bit, just some mild conflict, about why Rosalina never came to see Peach all this time despite knowing, and despite Rosalina knowing Peach could save her and thus meet up with her. I would love to see Rosalina side-stepping her questions and answering in riddles or mystical ways, because that aligns with her character of avoiding the topic entirely, but I don't want to see the conflict grow out of proportion to become the "miscommunication trope" in cinema. I think just keeping it toned down to be more realistic would be nicer, but I do want to see some confrontation happening instead of Peach being 100% cool with it like the ending of the last movie.

Finally, I would really find it cool if Toad and Mario could work together on something as a duo, because, in the first movie, Toad tells Peach that he and Mario are best friends, which Mario responds to with "But are we?". So far, Toad is seen as a perfect sidekick for Peach, but his friendship with Mario doesn't seem to have grown much and it would be nice to see some development here.

What things do you guys wanna see?

I know said it before, but it's honestly dumb to not push movie tie-ins for games

Specifically to plan DLC contents for games right after theatrical release in order to promote the movies. Wouldn't count when the movies already ended their theatrical time, even if the DLC occurs.

Well there are notorious cases like Angry Birds, but it could be a very wise strategy if the game companies are confident enough in the quality of their movies.

I think what made the movies uninspiring to videogame fans is that, despite the first movie did do many innovation and great fanservice, the new contents barely make influence on later games so fans just think they waste money on this movie ticket.

But if instant tie-in contents are planned simultaneously, it could bring very positive result in various aspects. Videogame fans may immediately enjoy the movie contents in games just when they get back home from theater. Nintendo benefit more from the movie hype, and games may actually expand with diverse contents.

If Captain Syrup were to ever appear in the next Mario Movie, how would she be?

How would the movies adapt Wario and Waluigi?

Yes, I know Wario and Waluigi weren’t created by Miyamoto so it’s likely that they wouldn’t even be in the movies at all, but I still think it’s a fun topic to talk about.

One idea I have is that Wario and Waluigi should be from the human world. One thing that defines the Wario Bros, well mostly Wario in general, is that he’s always been jealous of Mario’s success. But the movie portrays Mario and Luigi as being unsuccessful plumbers so there wouldn’t be anything for Wario or Waluigi to be jealous over. Instead, I think Wario and Waluigi should be the ones who are more successful than Mario and Luigi at the start and they’re portrayed as being greedy pigs who love the attention and spotlight, but after Mario and Luigi defeat Bowser and they get the spotlight, Wario and Waluigi get jealous and go to the Mushroom Kingdom to wreak havoc or get revenge.

I also initially thought Wario and Waluigi should be related to the Mario Bros, to play off the common misconception in the fandom what Wario is Mario’s cousin, but then I remembered that Rosalina was made to being Peach’s long lost sister, so having another family member reveal would be redundant. Instead, I think Wario and Waluigi should be Mario and Luigi’s old bullies or rivals from childhood.

But that’s just my thoughts. What do you guys think?

My idea for Mario short films

So after watching the Mario Galaxy movie for the third time in theaters, I had a nice idea. The Lumas really love the stories Rosalina tells them so why don't we have Illumination do a series of short movies like Disney's Silly Symphonies that are Mario versions of classic folklore and stories? It would be a nice way to bring characters that haven't been in the movies yet in. Also, it would be a great way to utilize the public domain.

Now if these happen, Nintendo and Illumination can't do certain things that Disney already did as Disney made certain characters, elements, songs, plots and changes to stories. And Nintendo and Illumination wouldn't want to kill off characters so these shorts would have to not have dark elements that many of these stories originally had especially the ones from medieval times. These shorts can also utilize public domain music rather than licensed music to fit to medieval themes most of these stories take place in.

Already, I've thought of *Three Little Yoshis,* *Mario And The Beanstalk,* *The Koopa And The Broodal,* *The Sarasaland Musicians,* *Sin-bario The Sailor,* *Luigi-laddin And The Wonderful Lamp,* *Mario, Luigi And The Forty Thieves,* *King Wario's Golden Touch,* *Luigi The Valiant Tailor,* *Peach Pink And The Seven Toads,* *Rosa-rella,* *Sleeping Daisy,* *Ra-pauline-zel,* *Don Waluigi,* and *Rambi* which is a parody of Bambi but also has a bit of Dumbo and The Lion King in it.

Those are just some of the ideas I've come up with. Another reddit or also thought of them doing Goldilocks and Red Riding Hood too and I've thought of them doing their own versions The Little Red Hen and Puss In Boots too.

What do you think? Would you want Nintendo and Illumination to do their own takes on fairytales and classic stories the way Disney did? What other stories would you want them to do? I would love to hear them!

New Mario Movies

Personally I hope at some point that they make one based off of the Super Mario RPG game (originally on SNES and recently remade for Switch) it may be "too big" of a story for just 1 movie though and be turned into a 2-parter (but then what would they do with Rosalina and whoever else they add between now and then). I think it would also be cool to see Bowser become either Giga Bowser or Dry Bowser in one of the movies as well.

DYK that Fox has a slightly different personality in Japanese version?

I'm from Japan, and apology for my insufficient English proficiency. The Super Mario Galaxy movie was my first experience for "western" version of Fox McCloud. And I've noticed that Fox in that movie is more easy-going, assertive, expressive, pretentious, laid-back, and money-grubbing than what we Japanese fans used to know.

(Please don't get me wrong, I also quite like the movie version and I became immediately fond of, and I thought this is a good opportunity to introduce Japanese perspective).

And the latest iteration (2026 remake) is also more akin to the Mario movie than the traditional Japanese personality which had been established since the Nintendo 64 version.

After communicating with other Japanese fans and witnessing comments by western fans, I confirmed there are slight differences in personality between Japanese and western versions of Fox. At least among fanbase in Japan I've been with, I'm not in the minority (and possibly in the majority) who were not accustomed to the western version and the Mario movie was their first experiences with this.

In Japanese version (since 1997), he has been depicted as polite, formal, sobersided, not talkative, overly responsible and self-sacrificing, humorless, desireless or selfless, and inexperienced with women. And I personally think this is due to cultural differences. In Japan, (at least once) there has been an atomosphere that people may prefer serious, selfless, and polite personality for male role models.

PS: I found analogies and analysis by ckim777 and GreyhoundOne and Kcnnn and MagnetMod quite interesting, in terms of differences in depictions of mercenary acts. American iteration is like Maverick (Top Gun) and Han Solo (Star Wars), and Japanese one is like Amuro Ray (Gundam). And the recent "Marvelization" might have influenced the movie Fox to some extent.

PS2: I was also instructed that the Mario movie has significant differences between English and Japanese versions.
