None sold so far, any idea of value? I see one on ebay asking for a bunch of $, but I know how that works
Find it on eBay for Ruthlesskc510 , https://ebay.io/m/SyvN9I
I loved this new Topps Chrome Marvel release that I was looking online to buy some singles and found this sketch from last year for relatively cheap. It was listed as Magneto, but is it truly him or another character? I bought it, so either way it doesn’t matter. It would just be cool to know. Thanks for y’all’s help!
The 1990 Marvel Universe promo cards.
Before the official 1990 Marvel Universe set was released, these promos were handed out at a convention in cello packs. According to Bob Budiansky, they were used to test the product and prove its validity to Marvel before the full release.
Only 20 cards were made, all featuring original artwork by comic book artist Tom Morgan.
So how do you spot one in the wild?
Look for these two key details:
And here’s the wild part…
When these cards actually surface, recent sales show they can sell for more than better-known 1990 Marvel Universe collectibles — including diamond promos and even some holograms.
They’re incredibly rare, historically significant, and still flying under the radar — so much so that even PSA hasn’t fully recognized their place in Marvel card history.
If you ever come across one, don’t overlook it. This is the kind of find Marvel card collectors dream about.
So start the hunt, flip over those MU90 cards, and look for those promos.

Anyone have thoughts on these bad boys? I bought a box awhile back because i thought they looked cool, pulled a Wolvie silver foil so i dont really want to chase anything else. Are ppl into them? Im looking to dump the other cards from the box. Will post pics later
Opened my 1st ever hobby box from the preorder…. The Ock
Opened my 2nd hobby from the general release… Art Germ auto
3rd and last box staring at me from the corner of the room…
So I'm from the 90s when we used Ultra Pro sleeves and binders, snap cases for regular special cards and the big screw cases for the really important ones. I've seen that apparently the screw ones will hurt your cards and don't even see the snap ones anymore.
What's the best way to go these days? What are the new rules? Do we still use binders and are some supposed to be better than others etc? Thanks for any help!
Hit some dope cards out of some blasters
So I was hunting for marvel cards a few years back as they were by far my favourite to collect as a kid. Turns out they’re pretty hard to come by but a guy at forbidden planet gave me these.
I’d be pretty impressed if anyone could identify what these are.
I dare say these are probably rarer than anything.
Been having a really shit few days. But I was up at my mom’s last night looking through some old binders and really enjoyed them. Saw a blaster box at Walmart this afternoon and grabbed it. Pulled this 76/80 Carnage and was pretty stoked about it! Been a loooong time since I bought cards so this was a win for sure.
Ordered from Amazon, and they picked two winners
I collected the two 1992 series of X-men and Marvel completely when I was a kid, but recently got the Russell Dauterman X-Men cards that are based on these original 1992 cards. I moved the two sets which were previously just in an old showbox into a binder and it happened to fit perfectly. I know the sets aren't rare or anything, But I thought I'd show them off anyway.
I'll share the last page and some close ups of the holographic cards in the comments because those are particularly hard for me to see now. I assume it's because I left them in a shoe box for decades.
Couldn't be a better serial number
Read the conversation and share your opinion. Does the community think these cards are going to be insanely priced or is this seller delusional?
How we feeling about this one? I see one listed for $250 on eBay right now
