We need AI labels on Spotify and Apple Music

Since the start of 2026, the music world has changed
AI Music has now made up at least 28% up to 40% of daily uploads onto these platforms, and a decent chunk belongs to people pushing out AI music solely for profit over any form of creativity

With the addition of Spotify "carefully" labeling real musicians who do not use AI Generation, their requirements have left many musicians who don’t use any AI Generation and just below this requirement in the dust.

I feel that two additions to both of these platforms will let users / listeners who use these music platforms daily be able to fully understand in a complete transparent way on WHO they are listening to and WHAT they are listening to.

If there is enough evidence to show that the artist on this platform is AI Generated and not a real-life musician, it should have an "May Contain AI Generation" label on the artist profile itself, similar to how Spotify now has "Verified By Spotify" so the listener understands that the person behind the songs they are listening to with full transparency.
If there is enough evidence to show that the song on this platform is AI Generated, it should be listed next to the artist name on these platforms with "May Contain AI Generation", so if a listener finds the song on a "Mix" or a "Radio" they are listening to, they are able to view that the song could have AI Generation involved with it.
Considering that both of these platforms have allowed AI Generated Music to be put on the platform and have started to implement a crude method to verify musicians who don’t use AI at all, we need to at least have full transparency that the track was either made by a real human or made by an AI or an Hybrid AI/Human track

Anyone dealt with Top Shelf recently?

I ordered an album through bandcamp now like 2 weeks ago, and it dupe ordered and charged me choice. Ive reached out to them 3 times, first immediately and before payment process, second time right after processing, and the 3rd time a few days after that.

I havent heard anything back, Im still recieving Klarna charges, and I havent been given a shipping confirmation.

Top Shelf has been awesome for my prior orders through them, but this time is actually crazy upsetting.

Highly recommend this record from my local scene

Doesn't last much, but it's such a gem to me. Passional, both slow and fast, heavy and light and feels melancholic through its entire run. Have been listening to this one recurrently, not one or two tracks, but in it's entire shape. Quite an album it is

Anyone else's non-math-rock friends asking them for more like Angine de Poitrine?

A couple of my friends who never really got in to math rock or post rock much have really gotten hooked on Angine de Poitrine with how much they've blown up. One of them asked me the other night what other math rock bands he should listen to, so I threw together this artifact and playlist of some bands and songs I'd recommend.

I know I left a lot out, but I also wanted to try to focus on a lot of the bands that might not be showing up as direct influences.

Is there anything I absolutely should add or has anyone done something similar?

The Cabs Holy Grail: the list of tunings for every song on their current set list. + Bonus pedal board.

No more begging in the comments of that one guy who does covers on youtube!

The Angine KEXP video has become a document of them at their purest form, before the internet tried to hug them to death

They just played in my town in the UK, packed out the beach. They're touring non-stop. I think we're all very happy at their massive success but it's interesting to watch that performance back now. A time before everybody wanted a piece or had an opinion to offer

How some guitarists play good with many tunings?

Hi! I love math rock, and I'm just wondering how guitarists like Yvette Young or Tom Collins good with so much different tunings. For example I remember Yvette saying that she plays mostly with ear, but I find it counterintuitive with so many tuning. If someone would tell me how to do that, I would be really happy 😊. Thanks in advance.

Was Hella's spotify account hacked?

I saw this on thursday and I looked at the cover and was like "huh?" So I listened to it and it sounded kinda like ai slop. Was their account hacked or something?
