Medical interpreter contract

Hello ! I am about to sign an independent interpreter contract with a company and as I am new to this, I am not very sure if its a pretty standard agreement or not. Can anyone help me with this please?

My question is I find in the agreement that I will be responsible for the company legal costs if a patient claims and i am just wondering if thats standard or not. And if it is, do I need insurance and what type that i need to obtain and what would you recommend? And its for remote position. Would be great if someone could share some insight on this matter. Ty so much in advance!

When is language access more than a checkbox?

Health systems can provide interpreter services, but that does not always ensure patients have the language support they need throughout their care. Understanding a diagnosis is one thing, but understanding a medication change, a bill, a portal message, or what to do when symptoms worsen is another. Language access helps patients ask questions, make informed decisions, and understand what comes next without relying on family members to fill in the gaps. Where have you seen language access work well, and where are the gaps still showing up?

Medical interpreter where to start as pre med

Hello, I'm a pre med student who is fluent in English and Korean. I'm planning to become a medical interpreter but I'm not sure where to start. I'm looking for something that is fully online as I will be in college this year. I'm also hoping to work fully remote after getting certified. I graduated high school in the US, and I got rating of advance low on my ACTFL Korean oral test. Please, anything would help. Please share any program recommendations that are preferably not as expensive. Also please tell me about your experience of getting a job as an interpreter. Thank you!
