My first Melvins album and I think one of the band's best.
However, I have always had this doubt about the meaning of the cover because it is very original and interesting.
Without him being the inspiration for the name of the greatest band of all time, they may have ended up calling themselves the Foo Fighters.
Rest in peace, Melvin.
We all know the double drummer setup - but what about times when the Melvins did TRIPLE drums? The tour that immediately jumps to my mind is the 99 tour with VAZ and Melt Banana, where they did 3 drummers on a song. I can't remember which song though.
I have a specific memory of hearing the song for the first time on a soundtrack or music compilation of some sort way before I knew or realized who's a Melvin's were. According to Google AI it's a Mandela Effect memory or something like that where it's just not true. But it's so ingrained there has to be something to it. It was early to midnight is I knew and love Soundgarden and all the other Main grunge bands but I really didn't know who the Melvins were but I love this song. It was years later I learned it was even a song by The Melvins. Does anyone have any memory or knowledge of this song being part of a compilation or on any other commercial CD available for purchase that was not the Houdini CD by The Melvins?
