Something I noticed (note this meme isn't making fun of people)
I've been lurking this sub on and off for years and one of the things that stuck out to me (mainly the female users on this sub) is this lingering yearning where they want bodies that they have to be represented in media. That desire's a admirable goal and as somebody who's black and chubby, I always wanted media that depicted who I was as someone worth loving instead of being on the sidelines or rendered nonexistent in mainstream media--looking at you BG3. It actually makes me mad in a way. I'm mad because women come in so many shapes and sizes without coming off as "ugly" but all we see is the same slender hourglass with disproportionate boobs or conventionally petite perky ones almost all the time, even in spaces where people should know better.
ofc I'm not suggesting my fellow artist stop drawing their fave art subjects and draw some OC to make someone feel better, God no. I just wish these characters exist so that fanart of them would exist and I wouldn't feel as alone as I did back when representation of different builds were rare. But fandom's fandom, I guess. You can't stop mostly straight white girls from loving lanky white boys, it's human nature to like beautiful people. I too like conventionally beautiful people while making room for unconventional ones.
>"but what if I wanna be seen as undesirable?"
That's also valid but I'm talking about people who want the same type of appreciated conventional bodies get without coming off as a fetish.
