Ideas for a t-shirt based on mgr?

Hey everyone, I'm thinking of ordering some t-shirts based on MGR, memes, cool stuff, whatever. Give me ideas and images, and if I like any of them, I'll order them. Any suggestions are welcome.

Remix Alert

Hi, I'm new to this Reddit community, and I've been a big fan of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance for a while now, so I've developed a real fondness for its soundtrack. I've been wanting to remix the songs with lyrics for a while now, with the goal of expanding them and combining them with other versions that were used separately or are simply no longer used.

Anyway, here's a part of the latest mix I made. If you like it, you can visit my YouTube channel @RickXesG18 where you'll find more content from the game.

Community Update: New Rules, Update Post Flairs and Community Happenings

Hello!

It's been a Looooooong time since posting moderation updates (X >!Mostly for personal happenings and upcoming celebration event (B-Day)!<

Art by fezzz

Other than that, I would like to share with you what's been added, modified and other stuff =D

New Rules:

  1. No AI (No worries, this won't be applied to Blade Wolf) Basically Generated AI content in any shape of form as well assisted AI content is not allowed.
  2. Beware of Bootleg Merch Scams. I noticed in the recent week's users posting MGRR merch which is cool and no problem with that. Yet if I notice bootleg/repro merch then it's going to be subject to removal and from here it's going to be handled with the user.
  3. If selling items, please provide accurate information. The moderation team at discretion would require from a user looking to post 4 sale MGRR merchandise, official limited-edition packages etc... other than that it's strongly encouraged to practice safety when purchasing off-platforms and it's solely at the user responsibility to proceed with the transaction.

Flairs:

Basically removed image and video flairs and added a new one called Media that way it's more redundant for any user to use it while posting either videos or images 🥇

Community Happenings:

I mentioned that a few weeks back some users posted their MGRR merchandise for sale and that's cool c:

Amazing to still seeing notable community members having passion about the game while sharing their knowledge & wisdom to others =D like u/XGamin1 who even have a server community for MGRR related w resources and everything.

I forgot to mention that reddit added videos in comments; So that's enabled now by the way! still stick to the community & sitewide guidelines on what's being posted please =D

That's it! Thanks for reading 👍 and until next time!

Perfect parry Sam

How do I do it? I know you can only perfect parry the last hit on his 4 hit combo but I fail every time.

I don't spam parry. I literally could not parry closer to his attacks if I was The Flash himself. How?? Is it because the high resolution patch? Is it because I'm in ripper mode? I'm so tilted here.

How to Deal with Dwarf Gekkos in Metal Gear Rising

This post was taken directly from this entry: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1tAiL_3fg_afQjW9Pzmi1Ua1nZ4Z_xVe0nz_UMBktOMM/edit?tab=t.0#heading=h.vbe37rfmi3zm

Dwarf Gekkos are notorious for being both silly and highly annoying for certain people, especially during the Mistral boss fight. There also is that one cutscene of them with Mistral in the Blade Wolf DLC . . . 👀

The methods by which to handle them are generally not very complicated, and their annoyance—especially during the early game, in which you do not yet have access to Ripper Mode—stems from the fact that they synergize with other bigger threats. That said, Raiden and Jetstream Sam have different tools in their kits that are almost equally useful in handling these fodder enemies that appear in such large numbers.

AS RAIDEN: Raiden’s best tools against these things are the Ninja Run Attack and the L’Étranger Pole-Arm, though other moves and attacks can be situationally good as well. This fact can certainly make the player appreciate the move more considering how it is too weak for enemies with Desperado-grade armor and is best reserved for this purpose.

  • Though it is quite weak when not synergized with Ripper Mode, the Ninja Run Attack not only has very high crowd control but keeps Raiden mobile enough to avoid a decent amount of danger. Drawing the Dwarf Gekkos away from the other enemies or just going aggressively after them and spamming the Ninja Run Attack is usually the way to go for most encounters.
  • u/LaggyLefty notes that the L’Étranger Pole-Arm, the Unique Weapon known for its crowd control capabilities, is very good at handling Dwarf Gekkos as well, which follows the notion that the Unique Weapons tend to be useful against their respective bosses/owners. It has two very good moves that should be used against them:
    • On one hand, the Pole-Arm’s initial hits can be constantly canceled with Blade Mode to refresh them without entering into long combos that are hard or inconvenient to escape from.
    • On the other hand, its Plume de l'ange (the attack that many call “the Beyblade attack”) has quite poor damage but very good crowd control in addition to style and fun factor.
  • Some additional tools can be used under specific or rarer circumstances:
    • Long combos like the Low Roundhouse and Throat Slicer are only good when there is only one Dwarf Gekko left on the field, helping you to finish the fight quicker.
    • The Stormbringer is not the best option but is more defensive than Sam’s Blender. I would imagine that the Cercle de l'ange enjoys the same benefits as a move that actually gets a bit more praise than the Stormbringer from some players, but this hypothetical needs a bit more substantiation.
    • Blade Mode is a decent way to insta-kill some of them when you don’t yet have access to Ripper Mode. Though it is a common tactic against other enemies as well, u/RiverNest8 notes that the Sliding Tackle–Blade Mode synergy increases the crowd control capabilities of Blade Mode.

AS SAM: Jetstream Sam’s best move against these things is his Piercing Winds, which synergizes exceptionally well with the Taunt, Dash, and Jump—we can call this the weaving method because it looks like he’s weaving in and out of combat. While he has other useful methods of handling them, that is the safest as it allows him to stay mobile.

  • There are a handful of steps to the Piercing Winds weaving method, but they are executed very quickly:
    • Taunt the Dwarf Gekkos from a safe position, usually after using his Dash; this should be easy to do due to Sam’s 20% speed advantage over Raiden.
    • After that, use his Backflip or any other method of animation canceling to cancel the Taunt animation.
    • Then, use Sam’s Dash to get him running, and use his Piercing Winds attack to pick off the Dwarf Gekkos one by one. Make sure to hold down his Dash, or you won’t be able to stay very mobile.
    • After each Piercing Winds attack, jab the Jump button (while holding down Dash) so that Sam doesn’t Jump too high. You want him on the floor as much as possible, and you certainly don’t want to compromise his horizontal mobility. Jumping like this negates the cooldown on his Piercing Winds and allows you to immediately start insta-killing the Taunted Dwarf Gekkos one by one again.
    • Rinse and repeat until all the Dwarf Gekkos have been picked off. This method doesn’t have the same crowd control capabilities as Raiden’s method, but it adheres to the philosophy that if you can kill anything quickly enough, you are practically something of a crowd control unit yourself.
    • For a YouTube demonstration on how to do this, visit this link: Metal Gear Rising—How to Handle Dwarf Gekkos in the Jetstream DLC
  • There are some other methods that can be useful as well, but they are generally more situational than the method provided above:
    • u/Extension_Problem_77’s method of choice is to Dash away to a safe distance after outrunning the Dwarf Gekkos and using the Storm Front on them. This is a safe method as long as you are not in a tight and crowded space.
    • The Blender would seem like the go-to method of handling the Dwarf Gekkos due to its AoE, but its long windup and prerequisites are problematic due to the very high chance that one of them will grab you before you can perform it.

Video Demonstration of How to Handle Dwarf Gekkos in the Jetstream DLC

I'll be making a written guide on it soon, but in testing things out on Hard difficulty (since some enemies function a bit differently on Very Hard and Revengeance difficulties oddly to the benefit of the player), I found that the easiest way to handle the Dwarf Gekkos in the Jetstream DLC is not by utilizing the Blender but rather by picking them off individually and making use of Sam's extremely high mobility. You just have to press the Jump button without holding it down so that Sam suffers practically nothing as far as horizontal mobility goes.

I finally defeated Armstrong on Hard mode

After 4 days on and off and what felt like under 90 deaths (I lost count of the real number): I got him with a B score. Incidentally on the last day today I had a big panic attack and I felt like I needed a real distraction so after breathing exercises to ground myself I then channeled my emotions into fighting Armstrong. With the last 3 or so tries I muted all the music and sound because I wanted to fully lock in. What I'm saying is Jack is back! I read what attacks would happen and alternate between every type of attack to overwhelm/tire the boss out. Left mouse button, right mouse button spam. Near the end I realised I forgot to press "R" for Ripper mode so I started doing that, it made some but not too significant a difference in this run. Since I regualrly Zandatsu him whenever he was standing up. Even threw in 2 or 3 aerial moves by accident which I had previously wrongly thought Armstrong would always 100% parry air; turns out I needed the right opening or staggering for them to connect. No previous saves were needed, I did this without backtracking.

My 2 health packs just managed to work after I got the 5 health Zandatsu drops. I found 2 forward sword thrusts or 1 of them into left right slashes into the "W" button attacks sometimes cancelled his powerful pyroclastic AOE ground cracks leaving me damage free from that at least forcing him into an attack sequence that I could parry. I also Zandatsu whenever he green healed as best I could and always ran backwards to "F" collect the blade which most of the time felt like a tiny moment of invulerability. If I couldn't make a dodge/slide/run I might as well hit him as much as he hit me during a yellow AOE blast. So yeah The War Still Rages Within; got to play Blade Wolf and Jetstream Sam when I feel up for it. I also wanted to hear Raiden say Revengence with the Konami code but couldn't get it that to work on PC unless that is really only for console versions.

The vocal versions of The Only Thing I Know For Real and The Stains of Time are currently unavailable on Spotify

Tracks 1-12 of the METAL GEAR RISING REVENGEANCE Vocal Tracks Selection on Spotify, from Rules of Nature through The War Still Rages within. Track 2 (The Only Thing I Know For Real) and track 7 (The Stains of Time) are greyed out, indicating that they are unavailable for playback.

I noticed this when going through my playlist this week. I was actually specifically going for The Stains of Time when I noticed it and The Only Thing I Know For Real were unavailable. The instrumental variants are still available. I'm honestly pretty frustrated, since The Stains of Time is easily my favorite song from the game.

If anyone knows why these two songs specifically are unavailable, I'd love to know.
