seniors, how will the new ee merger affect cutoffs? 😭💔

hey guys, aiming for ee at mit manipal main campus and could use a quick reality check. right now i’m at a 105/240 in met and 90% in boards pcme. rank predictors are saying this puts me around the 11k rank mark.

i am writing phase 2 to hopefully pull my score up by 15 to 35 marks, which the predictors say should jump me into the 8k to 4k bracket. but with the major branch overhaul happening this year, i honestly don’t know what to expect.

since they’re merging biomedical, vlsi, instrumentation, and cyber physical into a single umbrella ee stream, i went through the collegepravesh seat matrix. if you add up the individual seats of all those branches getting combined, it comes out to a total of 540 seats.

so my main question about the seat matrix is, are they actually keeping that full 540 capacity for the new single ee stream, or is the management reducing the total intake? also how is this going to affect the cutoffs?

all these branches had completely different cutoffs last year, like vlsi was competitive while biomed closed way later. if the total seats stay at 540 under one name, is it going to completely change the ee cutoff or will it stay somewhat stable compared to old eee trends?

basically just want to know what a realistic safe rank is that i should be aiming for in phase 2 to secure a seat in this new setup at main campus. any insights from seniors who actually know the ground reality would be huge.

MET 2026 + CBSE improvement exam timing!!! URGENT

so i gave MET session 1 and it was decent. session 2 is in a few days. my class 12 CBSE board result was way lower than i expected (OSM CHECKING OH GOD!!!) and i'm planning to give the improvement exam (date is July 15) hoping to bring it up.

the issue is MET counselling starts in June and usually wraps up most rounds by July/August. since board marks carry 50% weightage in the MET composite rank, a better % would genuinely help me get a better branch. but my improvement result will come in August, probably after most counselling rounds are already done.

has anyone actually dealt with this? specifically:

  • does MAHE allow you to submit updated board marks mid-counselling or in later rounds?
  • did your improvement result come in time for any round at all?
  • is there any late round where this could realistically matter?

would really appreciate hearing from someone who's been in this situation. the MAHE helpline isn't very helpful and i can't find anything concrete online about this

Query regarding counseling process , Please Help

I had a few queries regarding the counselling process:

  1. If I participate in the JEE-based counselling, will I have the option to select only 2–3 branches of my preference? In case I am not allotted any of those branches, will I still be eligible to participate in the MET-based counselling rounds later?
  2. If I choose not to participate in the JEE-based counselling by not paying the counselling registration fee at this stage, will I still remain eligible for the MET-based counselling rounds when they begin?

MIT through mains?

Hi everyone! new to this sub, but i got a mail today saying that through mains, i got a rank of 2656 in mit, and since the "through mains admission" only started this year, i have no way of knowing what branch i could possibly get from this. I will admit im treating it as a backup for now, but if this gets me a good branch in the manipal campus, ill gladly take it. i didnt give the first attempt but i will be giving the second one on 23rd. is there any way of knowing what this rank offers for now? thank you in advance!

Can anyone tell if there's any telegram channel or any source where free mocks are uploaded (other than mockers)

Like I heard that everything is available on telegram you just need to find it. Anyone knows?
