I'm a PC player, but I personally like collecting physical items, so I'd like to buy the game through a physical gift card.
Does anyone know when real-world stores like Walmart usually start selling PC gift cards for Modern Warfare 4? Would they only become available after the official release, or could they appear earlier during the pre-order period?
I’ve been getting that itch to play Call of Duty again lately. Honestly, no other shooter has really scratched the itch for me since Black Ops 3, and I miss having a solid arcade FPS to dump hours into. Battlefield 6, for example, doesn't do it for me anymore and neither does Halo Infinite.
That being said, I have a huge issue with full-price (€70+) games that treat you like you’re playing a Free-To-Play mobile game. I cannot stand loading up a game I paid full price for, only to be constantly shoved aggressively toward $20 operator bundles, Battle Passes, and premium stores while the basic earnable stuff looks like absolute garbage.
I don't know if anyone has an answer to this as well, the game'sn not out yet, but how good or bad do you think the customization will be in MW4? Can someone who doesn't want to spend any money on cosmetics still look like they've spent hours grinding the game, or will all the cool-looking camos be trapped behind a paywall?
I know there will be mastery skins here and there, but if that's all we're gonna get while the animated or special-looking skins are paywalled, I'd hate that. Gimme camos and skins unlockable through challenges and I'll gladly grind my way towards them!

Disclaimer: Yes, I know cosmetics and battle passes are completely optional and don't affect gameplay. I know I can technically "just ignore them." But a sense of progression, aesthetic customization, and not feeling like a second-class citizen in a game I paid full price for does matter to me and affects my overall enjoyment.

Just got my serialized Gilded Ruin camo.
I'd estimate there's probably only 2–3 hours left before all 100,000 serials are gone (assuming the current completion rate holds).
If you've been on the fence about grinding it, I'd start right now. It feels like the numbers are climbing really fast, especially tonight.
Obviously nobody knows the exact pace except Activision, but if you're hoping to get a serialized version instead of the non-serialized camo, I wouldn't wait until tomorrow.

Before I start; I want to be clear, I will be getting the game and have literally no gripe about what we’ve seen so far, it’s the exact opposite actually. This game is extremely promising. Let me explain.
It’s a matter of not knowing which console to purchase on yet.
The game has been announced on PC, Xbox Series, PS5, and most importantly for this conversation Switch 2.
I usually play CoD on Xbox, however recently I have been playing the new Splatoon Raiders game on the Switch 2 and absolutely am loving the Gyro Controls. Gyro controls if implemented well can massively improve control of aim for quick movement and precision targeting.
On top of that there’s also the factor of portability. Having the game on handheld hybrid would be excellent for portability and freeing up the TV occasionally for my wife (I play a lot of CoD).
The issues I have however are performance related. I typically play CoD on the Series X and don’t experience any issues graphically, or in performance, however, I can’t say the same for really any game that has ever released on the Switch or Switch 2. I am greatly hoping the optimization of this game on the Switch 2 is roughly the same as a Series S game, and if it is, that will be my console of choice. But I’m worried this isn’t the case. The preorder hasn’t released for it, and I doubt there will be a Switch 2 version of the Beta, so we likely won’t get any news on performance, until launch. There’s also no confirmation on if Gyro will be in the Switch 2 version, only mouse controls.
If it does work well, I honestly could see the Switch 2 being the best version of this game though. I guess I just have to wait and see.
I grew up playing search and destroy, once they added cyberattack to MW 2019 I never looked back. Best call of duty game mode HANDS DOWN!

What do you guys think about disbanding lobbies coming back and longer queue times after each game?

Does anyone know if tactical stance is in MW4 like MWiii? I.e. you can use it all the time regardless of special attachments. It was so good for a variety of close to mid range situations but with the hip fire changes I feel like they might not implement it.
Every MW game in the reboot thus far has been strictly OG MW or OG MW2 maps being brought back with a couple OG MW3 maps sprinkled in, but this has gotta be the year they bring in some heat from OG MW3 right? I can’t be alone in thinking the shit would be gas
