Hawk discovered mourning dove nesting place

I have mourning doves nesting under my shed for about 4 years. That nesting place has produced a lot of adult doves. But in the last year a hawk has discovered that place and has devoured parents and the babies a few times. The last time was the toughest where I think the hawk caught one of the parents. The other parent returned after a day and the baby was surprisingly alive and this parent was feeding it.

The next evening I come back home and I find my front yard strewn with bird feathers. The surviving parent and the baby were gone.

This will repeat again given that mourning doves just nest at the same place repeatedly and because northern California has so many of them and that hawk isn't going anywhere anytime soon. Should I intervene? If yes, how?

Soup’s On! 🥣

Caught this shy cutie taking a bath today; she could see me peeking around the curtain and got nervous, but before I could start recording she was splashing quite a bit. Ignore the bird sounds in the background, I was playing an enrichment video for my cat
